Did Luke have 75 tackles today?

Good lord dude was all over the place today.

Having TD back certainly helped, and I think our d-line play was much better.  Hopefully we see more of the impressive second half defense like last year.

I really hope we all take time to sit back and enjoy what we're seeing in watching #59 play. Guys like that don't come alone every day.

Enough with all these Kuechly every-time-we-win-after-the-game threads. Tackles should only count when it's made in the back field for a lost or no gain. Just like sacks. A DB tackling a WR on a 50 yard completion is not a great play. Tackling the RB after a 10 yard gain should not count as a tackle. The game of defense is about sacks and INTs. Unless there is a score there is a tackle in almost every possession. It's not something rare or difficult to get.

Come on guys, let's pretend we understand the game like those other fan-bases in storied franchises. Even I can fall on top of a pile and get myself a piece of tackle. lol

Oh I get it.  So an LB whose assignment is to drop back 5 to 8 yards from the LOS should just let a runner have a free pass to a TD since there's no point in tackling him if he makes it past the LOS?  Makes perfect sense.  NOT.

Yes and no.

Sometimes a downfield tackle is a big play by minimizing damage done from someone else's manner.

A big part of football is stepping up when a teammate screws up.  Yes you need to correct their misplay, but during the play it is the job of safeties and linebackers to get ball carriers on the ground to minimize the impact of the misplay.

Wow...  You must be one of the pretenders, otherwise you would understand this guy was all over the field today making plays, ie, blowing up RB pass protections (which was sick today), getting across the field to bring down a runner, and not letting the team score.

Really?  You think all the dude's doing is falling on dog piles.  We must not of been watching the same game.

    • I'm honestly looking beyond DC at this point. He's too green and is making too many simple mistakes. I think he's gone after next year. I think the intention in LV was to use Mayer and Bowers similar to Gronk/Hernandez in NE. That's never really struck me as Carroll's MO though after watching him for years out here in Seattle.  He's talented enough and I think he just got lost behind the phenom that is Bowers because he couldn't develop in Carroll's system. I'm surprised Bowers is used as much as he is, though they really don't have anyone else. TE's don't really exist as focus receivers in Carroll's offense. I live in the PNW so I've been subjected to a lot of Seahawks football.  Coaches other utilize their TEs. We should too. Tremble is OK, but he's always been a project as a receiver. Again, all this is of we could get him at the right price. I wouldn't pay a lot because we need to spend on defense.
    • David. Hey, money talks.....it has been acknowledged that Tepper isn't shy on spending. He's had the NFL equivalents of used car salesman after used car salesman line up to grift him of a big chunk. Canales is one of them.  Until that changes, it's gonna be tough to build anything to last.
    • Well it's who they tied themselves to for at least another year but i agree. They will be lucky to find a useful contributor but until I see the DC situation change I am presuming it's SSDD. Well it sounds like maybe in 2027.
