NBC Sports on Cam: "You can’t question the kid’s toughness."

"You can say many things about Cam Newton, but you can’t question the kid’s toughness.

The Panthers quarterback, who’s playing on a still-mending ankle and after some broken ribs in the preseason, had another hurdle to clear this week.

After Sunday’s win over the Bears, Newton said he had four wisdom teeth surgically removed last week. That he was able to feel his face, much less smile or play, is impressive.

...

Newton’s mobility is clearly limited because of the offseason ankle surgery....but he’s also developing as a passer, and is keeping the Panthers afloat on offense, even though he doesn’t have many weapons or protection."

Why does wisdom teeth surgery happen during the season? I would think that can be taken care of during the off season with a little planning

When your jaw swells to the size of a golf ball it makes it impossible to put your mouth together much less put on a chin strap. It had to have been an emergency sort or situation to have planned it this way.

Newton said the plan was only to take one out but he didn't want to have to see the dentist again so he requested all 4 be taken out.

Isn't it sad how so many folks see that Cam doesn't have any real help around him but still the team and fans do nothing about it and continue to take him for granted.

Your shtick of generalizing all Panther fans because of a loud mouthed retarded minority (a very small minority) has long past grown extremely tiresome.

I reflexively roll my eyes, whenever I see your user name, before I even read your posts because I can almost recite verbatim what you're going to say in my head before actually looking at them.

    • Young quarterbacks Drake Maye, Bo Nix, and Bryce Young have led their teams to undefeated records since October.   Drake Maye has guided the New England Patriots to a 5-0 record in that period, with 2,285 passing yards and 17 touchdowns in nine games. Bo Nix has directed the Denver Broncos to a 5-0 stretch, throwing for 1,976 yards and 17 touchdowns, contributing to a 7-2 overall start. Bryce Young, in his second season, has led the Carolina Panthers to a 4-0 run since October, accumulating 1,390 yards and 11 touchdowns amid a 4-4 record.   Undefeated QBs since start of October (min. 4 starts)   Drake Maye 5-0 Bo Nix 5-0 Bryce Young 4-0   Bryce Young when asked about his mindset during game winning drives: "You don’t rise to the occasion you fall back to the level of your training."
    • 1. Cowboys-No explanation needed. 2. Rest of NFC South equally. If I had to pick I would say Falcons.    3. Eagles- Both of the games I have attended there the fans were so horrible. The fan base is so ridiculously misbehaved, I’ve never seen such immaturity. 4- Lions- I have cousins in Michigan that grew up Lions fans and they are some of the most obnoxious people I have ever met, as are all of their Lions buddies. The NFL has been lucky that Detroit has been in the cellar for its eternity.    5. Tie between Bears and Vikings. Both act like Steelers, Cowboys, Niners fans do with nostalgia and legendary seasons but neither have ever really had them. They act like they each won 5 super bowls in previous decades but never accomplished poo outside of Chicago in 85.
    • You play the Saints that is great news for your O line.
