Can we ever become a great team with Rivera at the helm

I like Rivera, but at times I feel like he is too nice which I think works against him when it comes to building a consistent contender. I think he is also too slow to adjust and react in real time during the game. You don't need to get emotional on the sidelines, but in the words on Herm Edwards 'you play to win the game'. Stop being a female dog. I guess the whole riverboat ron stuff only came about when his job was on the line.

May be it is my nature, but I am sick of playing not to lose. I want a team that will come out and punch the opponent in the mouth and knock them out like the l packers did to us. Even if we lose the games I respect that kind of effort knowing that we gave it all. I felt lotta people quit today

Also wish Rivera hired an OC with nuts whose sole purpose is to put points on the board. Also I think it is time he ditched the build-a-strong-DLine-and-mask-a-sh1tty-secondary philosophy. Invest in a good secondary or draft strong fast physical DBs. This is a pass happy league now and if we don't pressure with the front 4, we're gonna keep getting blown out unless we blitz, which we suck at doing btw .... I'm going to bed

Yes.  We need a great pass rush though.....  either that or an average pass rush with some speed in the secondary.

We need an great defense for Shula's offense to work.

We can also be a great team if Rivera opts to go with an OC that calls a more up tempo offense... I honestly would have loved to see the new and improved Pocket Cam,  in an offense like Chud's.    Chud knew how to utilize two TE sets. ...only thing I  would change about Chud's brand of offense is reducing Cam's runs.

It's my opinion that this team will never sustain success until "Mr. Richardson" sells the team.

Last year was not the result of Jerry's decisions. It was an anomaly.  Starting 2-0 was an anomaly.

If we win the NFCS, it will be an anomaly.

Jerry Richardson is the reason.  Period.

Since he got the pig heart, he's become pig-headed.

The ego of that guy.  Why does everyone have to call him "Mr. Richardson"???

Because he played in the NFL???

For 15 games.  Armani Edwards had a better NFL career than Jerry Richardson.

Ron is a coordinator, he's not a head coach. He can't figure out what's going wrong while the game is still being played, always talking about watching the tape. I don't think this team believes in the coaching staff, a lot of leadership walked out of that locker room in Gross and Smitty. It's not coming back either.

Love ron as a person not a head coach , hes a coordinator not a head coach! Wish we could keep ron as dc and get a offensive minded coach like the dude from auburn , cam has potential to be the best qb in the nfl , hes so damn talented we just need a good offensive mind leading us .

If it means rivera is gone then I guess it is what it is , I know were always loyal to our coaches and players but winning has to come first , im shocked gettleman hasnt cut shula yet!, I thought shula was gone after we lost that playoff game

Pre-Rivera: 2-10 (last in NFCS)

Rivera Year 1: 6-10 (3rd in NFCS)

Rivera Year 2: 7-9 (2nd in NFCS)

Rivera Year 3: 12-4 (NFCS Champs - 2nd round playoff exit)

Rivera Year 4: 3-3-1 (1st in NFCS)

That's our 3.5 seasons under Rivera. Some of you "newer" fans might like to know we were 2-10 in 2010.

We're trending upwards in all the stats that matter and we're now in 2 horse race to be back to back NCFS champs for the first time in history.

Go ahead. Replace your head coach.

But isn't it a coaches job to put his players in a position to be successful? I could've sworn it was a coach job to demand the best and get the best performances out of his players no matter who it is each and every Sunday. If Rivera can't do those two, he is not fulfilling his job duties point blank. Rivera is suppose to be able to hang his hat on his defense. He can't even do that anymore with the ridiculous drop off and the huge big plays we have given up this season. So the question I ask you is what value is he adding to our team?

Yea because losing your all pro DE has no effect on the defenses performance when your system is built on Pass Rush. I guess losing your staring QB should have no effect ether. Hell we are still on top of our div and still could go to the playoffs, people make it seem like we have lost every game.

The way this team has played right now we could be 1-6.

    • The league would protect him.  The amount of poo Jerry Jones has had exposed and got away with?  The amount of poo Stephen Ross has got away with?  How long Dan Snyder got away with essentially fuging sex trafficking employees and poo???????  Taking down JR was a hit job.  You think the other 31 owners, especially the older ones aren’t blathering, blatant, ignorant ass, bigoted rich racists who have committed far worse things than Blue Jean Fridays?  The ones I named above have DEFINITELY did worse than what JR was accused of.  And do you think guys like Steve Smith would’ve been viewing him as a father figure if they felt that’s who he was?  JR pissed the league off with that last lockout situation and they made him pay.  They lined a new guy up to join their billionaire boys club in Tepper, and they prolly slid a pretty penny to Jonathan Jones to write the “expose,” to get JR out of here.  Again, all the owners I’ve listed above have been verified on record for doing worse poo, yet they’re still running their organizations, unquestioned.  They hand-picked Tepper long before JR was forced out, so he isn’t going anywhere.  Sadly.  fug the NFL.  (Also, to be clear, it’s always fug racism, bigotry, and sexual exploitation - not ever excusing it.  Just making the point that the NFL isn’t operating under this clear standard of justice applied to each and every case)
    • I was still in the throes of a contentious divorce and my job at the time had me work on Sundays.  At the beginning of the season I tried to still work around Sundays so I could see our games.  I think after Bryce came back from the benching, I said fug it.  First time in my life I intentionally didn’t watch our games, even through the Atlanta finale.  In the past, even if we didn’t live up to expectations, I would watch to still support and at least analyze player development, strengths and weaknesses, coaching, etc., but Bryce makes all of that a moot point, so I stopped watching. Again, this is asinine,  it if he is retained (still can’t believe this is even a possibility of a conversation due to how shitty our organization has become under Tepper), I will NOT watch next season until he is gone.
    • Live look at Bryce playing ping pong.
