Does Cam deserve "the contract" based on this season?

he's going to get a pass for a few years and you people need to buck up and deal with it. firing GMs after a season and a half is some raiders poo.

what you think he should have done to be spared the wrath of the fans is like asking him to pitch a no-hitter. you only get so many draft picks and so many moves to make and oh yeah in most cases the outcomes of those things aren't known for years good or bad.

it's not like shula's playcalling where he literally gets dozens of chances every game to not completely fug up but makes rudimentary mistakes anyway

I actually don't want DG fired. That would send a horrible message to Cam about this franchise. But they do need to fire Rivera and Shula.

I'll start by saying none of these 20 million dollar QBs deserve the money they are getting. They are great players but it hurts the team overall when one guy makes that much money.

 

I still want Cam back. I still want him to make good money. But I'm concerned for our future if Cam gets 20m a year.

All of a sudden the coaches have him running more. Maybe THEY should be smart enough to recognize all of that. Too bad they aren't.

 

The coaches are lazy and looking for lazy wins hence using him like a RB. Too lazy to design passing plays. We have a QB, let him throw the ball and let the RBs run.

Bad Defense 80% of the season, pulling running backs off the street to play cause the starters cant stay healthy, an offensive line made up of mainly guys who are back ups, and a rookie, recievers who cant make any plays down the field except a rookie, a special teams unit that had been below average all year... Not how I would judge my QB. He has had his issues the past couple weeks, and he is partly responsible, but lets be real, the panthers aren't going to beat any good teams unless the defense is plays lights out, and even then it will be a huge struggle. We were only 12-4 cause Cam had 4 game winners, other wise we are 8-8 basically like all the other years. What you see on the field is EXACTLY what this team is personnel wise. Can't expect a bunch of rag tag players to come up big play in and play out game in and game out.

 

Still #1 so far in the NFC south though LMAO.

Jake Delhomme bad years? Dude what games was you watching all of those years. Jake was the one who took this team to a SB and almost won it. A long with his team mates help of course. The only time Delhomme starting to get bad was after his elbow gave out on him during that Falcons game. After that his throwing wasn't never the same. But before that Delhomme was a good QB. Dude you think again about Jake.

It is half way through the season.  Eight games is a pretty adequate sample size. Obviously if he dominated a few games in a row it might change things.  As of right now he's had two decent games this year.  He's starting to throw more picks, and he's been making some poor decisions from the pocket.  He also has a bad habit of not throwing the ball away. 

 

I wouldn't matter who his OL is, his style of play lends itself to big sack totals.

 

I'm not saying bench him or start DA over him.  I would say that if DA was starting I'd put big money on sack totals going way down.

 

Christ you are right.  Where has the season gone.  It doesn't feel like halfway yet.  I guess because I am still full of hope and look forward to next week which is something I don't often do this late in the season.

Even I am ready to say Cam needs to pass on any contract given to him by this team. The fans are ungrateful as fug and are just as clueless. This has nothing to do with race.

 

Like or not the NFL is a business that revolves around production.  No player is or should be immune to it. 

 

Here's the truth:  Everyone wants to see Cam do well.  He's just plays so inconsistently.  He's won us some games and he's cost us some games.  

 

We've had 1 winning season in 4 years. A first game home playoff loss in that winning season.   He has amazing potential physically, but struggles mentally doing the little things. 

 

He deserves to make good money, but not something horrific some other team will probably be willing to pay him.  Combined with the cap going up, dead contracts coming off the books, and saving 20+mill a year on Cam's contract we could really bring some talent onto this team.

 

I could careless if our qb can make spectacular runs.  I'd be happy on efficient non-glamorous drives that put up points, rather then the high risk high reward style of play our offense seems to depend on.
