Peyton needed 5 years and a new coach to start winning, so will Cam.

Dungy's second year in Indy Peyton won his first MVP, and the Colts started becoming serious threats to win the Super Bowl every year. Peyton Manning, a guy considered to be the first QB of all time by some needed 5 years and a head coaching change. It shouldn't be change for change sake though. I've said for the last 4 years that we'll never go anywhere with Ron Rivera in charge here. He is a great guy, but when he isn't fighting for his job the decision making is subpar. Rivera and his staff are wasting one of the most physically gifted QBs to ever step foot on an NFL field. DG has to hit on the next coach and we have to invest in Cam by getting an offensive line that isn't dog poo.

Bottom line, a couple bad games from Cam doesn't mean gloom and doom. Most reasonable people know what we have in him, and if it takes another 7 games of this nonsense, then so be it.

don't forget that military oline who wouldn't dare screw up on Peyton and those 2 high quality WRs Harrison/Wayne... we have have 1/3 of that line and only the #2 WR which is Benji...

how about every keep it in line because he really is a #2. obviously he's the "RR/Panthers/Huddle #1" but his overall play is a #2. Not dumping on his skill  whatsoever but you know deep down its the truth... he's good but has quite more to go.

The biggest issue is RR and the funky bunch!

I say 100% Horse Shyt.

Joe Flacco has won from day one.

5 Playoff appearances in 5 years.

Including a Super Bowl win.

The difference we're talking about here is Coaching and Management.

You have 2 of the best in GM Ozzie Newsome and HC John Harbaugh

This is about the organization, not the QB, Cam has plenty of talent. This organization has done nothing but hinder his success.

A new coach will not automatically make Cam better. Jay Cutler got a new coach, Blaine Gabbert was supposed to be better under Harbaugh, Josh Freeman went to Minnesota etc.

Last season Shula brought out the cans cos of Cam's lack of accuracy on the deep ball. I think they may have forgotten about him this season because they thought QB was the least of the problems with this team. These past few days have shown that Cam needs constant coaching and is not there yet.

I agree with a lot of this but I do think that some of Cam's issues are related to confidence in the line.  If a QB is not confident and comfortable when he drops back he is going to make some mistakes and in Cam's case, go back to the high balls, sailing, etc....

I don't have specific statistics but I do think that he is doing this a bit more this year vs. last year.  Don't get me wrong, Cam has some growth opportunities and there are several flaws in his game but he is under a lot more duress than many of his peers.

    • Today, we are all Kucci... I miss our feral Russian attack goalie!
    • That was a good segment. Watched every minute of it and would highly recommend it to all fans.
    • "So much of what the Panthers are going to do next week isn't dictated by their preference, but by what happens above them. That's another benefit of not getting locked into need. For instance, if you're thinking you want a receiver, seeing five or six of them go off the board and reacting by taking the sixth or seventh off your list instead of the first (or second or third) something else isn't necessarily wise." https://www.panthers.com/news/ask-the-old-guy-back-into-the-weeds-of-the-nfl-draft-bryce-young-charlotte-hornets-mock-draft This is what some don't seem to get, I don't care how many times it is said: You're NOT going to draft an inferior person at one position, just because that position is perceived as, or is in fact, a bigger need. That would basically nullify, or at least lessen, the reason why you set yourself up via free agency to be able to take the BPA/BAP on the board in the first place.  Yes, the process is complex, very much involved and ongoing, but the overall philosophy is not rocket science. You set yourself up in order not to be pigeonholed into taking a lower graded player at the expense of a higher graded one. This is why Morgan, Gantt and countless of others say the same thing. This is why it's just nonsensical to set yourself in a position where you don't have to, but then act like you have to come hell or high water: "Oh, we have to draft [whatever position], and we can't draft [this position]."  I'm good with whatever they do, until proven otherwise, but even then, you have to be mature enough to know that drafting is an imperfect exercise, filled with hits and misses. And, you generally don't know if you've hit, and especially missed, right away. Moreover, like I've said before, sometimes two players--different positions or not--can both be hits on their respective teams, so in that sense, it's not purely about a right or wrong pick as much as it's about putting puzzle pieces together at the time the best way that you know how.  At the end of the day, people are going to believe what they want to believe, but one thing that's true is that what the Panthers do regarding the draft is dependent upon what others do, and what others do can and does change things. That being the case, it's just another reason why you can't go in with tunnel vision. The thought of doing that is preposterous.
