SuperCam Detractors... answers needed...

Dexterity

This is the same tired argument that has been rehashed since 2011.  Who do we blame?  Cam? The Coaching? The front office? The owner? The fans?

The Coaches call a play, the players then attempt to execute the play.

Here is where the magic happens.  The defense, or DC rather, has studied our offense and knows to keep it vanilla, so base defense is going to work in most cases.  The offense lines up, already at a disadvantage from lack of talent and skill on the line, sees that the defense is in position to stop the play.  The QB looking for a way to manipulate the defense is stymied because of the lack of imagination and creativity of the play design.  Nothing in the audibles or hot routes change the defense so the offense is forced to run a play that wont work.  This then causes a lack of trust in the play calling leading to lack of passion and intensity etc etc.  Then we lose.

The end.

He lets things get to him

Goes undefeated and wins a national championship in college while being under scrutiny the entire time.

Has just about ever "analyst" trash him through the draft process and rookie season only to become OROY.

1 guy can only do so much to make up for the lack of talent on a unit and staff. Cam is human and just like the elite, he's going to say enough is enough at some point.

If you have to go back to college you really don't have an argument.

Different game. Different circumstances. Different set of responsibilities and perception of task altogether.

College is over. Do we need to list how many great college QBs couldn't make it. Talent not all that spectacular around him then either. Caught the field off guard.

I can make excuses too. I'm not. He just still has a lot of growing up to do is all I'm saying. At least that is the easy part to overcome. Or should be anyway. We'll see.

I don't think he's that smart. He lets things get to him. No mental toughness. Mentally defeated.

He's a heck of an athlete though. Fast and strong and throws hard. Just has tons to go still in the maturity and leadership department.

Wonder how many years it will take him?

How exactly does a QB who learned Chuds entire phone book sized offense/playbook, as a ROOKIE, in a shortened off season, with no wristband/cheat sheet...be not smart/unintelligent? Some of you people...

You've watched the same decisions and poor execution I have. You tell me.

Learning the playbook is only a small part of what is being discussed here by the way. Just a hint for ya there.

Being white does have something to do with it, I mean, the Panthers are in the thick of Nascar country. I've seen Panthers fans question Cam's intelligence over and over again. They want Derek Anderson to START for Christ's sake.

That is some of the most stupid sh!t I have read on here in a long time. Total trash.

The game isn't played at home, on your comfy couch. Nor is it played on your DVR. Knowing something and being able to execute in a split second, irrespective of circumstances swirling around you ( it is a game of many, many moving parts), are two different things. The latter of which, generally occurs with time and experience. Something that you and your ilk, seem to be unwilling to give our 3.5 year QB, who is on his second OC and has a brand new cast of shitty actors around him.  The intellectual dishonesty is comical. I have to put you on ignore. you and your clones are 1 trick ponies.

As others have stated, comparing the raw numbers of players of different eras is silly.

If you play that game, Geno Smith is better than Roger Staubach or Joe Namath.

The reality is that rules changes in favor of the offense have made it easier for QB's to succeed. There are QB's playing today who could not have taken the field 15 and especially 20 plus years ago.

The only thing you can do is to compare players to their contemporaries.

In his third year, Peyton Manning led the entire NFL in completions, yards and touchdowns. His admittedly terrible 4th season was almost a carbon copy of Newton's BEST season in terms of production.
