What sort of rage is unleashed if Olsen isn't retained?

He already took a pay hit when he had his third surgery. At this point he probably deserves a little more. He doesn't want to leave Carolina, though.

He will take another one, too. Davis has been very outspoken about how much he loves Carolina and JR because of how they've always stood by him and believed in him. He swears he will never play a down in the NFL in any other uniform. He said he will play here as long as they will have him, or until he is ready to retire, then he will go home.

They probably just extend him next summer and spread out his money. That would most likely cover the remainder of his career and would be a low enough cap hit that it doesn't matter how well he plays.

....Then why do you post on a football forum if it's "just a game?" Clearly, you're wasting precious time on your short life to discuss football.

Wow, that's a really tough one. Both are so important to their respective sides of the ball. TD is probably a more complete LB than Greg is a TE (can't block worth ish). Ignoring cap implications, because that can always be manipulated if both parties are serious, I think I'd go with Greg at this point. Cam can not lose another weapon and safety valve. I think Cam would leave if Greg was released before Cam was signed to a long term contract.

Yeah, doesn't seem to be working too well for NE.  :rolleyes:

 

Edit to point out the obvious that G-Reg is nowhere near the Gronk in terms of talent. But a TE-centric receiving game can 100% work, and a great TE opens up space for less talented WRs. SD has been doing it for years.
