Rivera says punt blocks on personnel, not coaching

@josephperson: Rivera on whether he still has confidence in special teams coordinator Rock Rodgers: "Yes, why wouldn't I?"

Another classic example of Rivera's buddies being in the "untouchable" inner-circle, and everyone else gets grown under the bus to save face.

Rivera said he's still not sure why the person who blocked down the wrong way on first block did what he did. #Panthers

Durr maybe cuz uhh he wasnt made aware of the situation. Zimmerman told the media he saw holes in carolinas punt scheme that he wanted to exploit. So maybe, ronnie boy, the scheme had flaws. But rons correct it was personnel, coaching personnel, along with the players on the field. You got out what you put in. Thats what u get for giving the team the week off during the bye you idiot.

    • I said leading up to the draft that Bryce looked like the typical great college QB who simply doesn't have what the NFL is looking for and goes as a mid-round flyer to a team drafting him as a backup but hoping he can prove them wrong. I never looked at Bryce and saw a 1st rounder much less a #1 overall.
    • I would have told my mom not to wear that mini skirt to work. Apparently it drove JR nuts.
    • The NFL is a fickle beast. There have been some very talented players who could not sustain their previous success even with the necessary physical traits. He would just end up one more in a long line. But you are correct. When you are targeting a specific position if you are operating with the necessary number of functioning brain cells you should always covet and prioritize the players who showed up the most against the best most pro ready competition. Not fawn over the prospects who spent the bulk of their career shellacking smaller college programs who basically operate out of a large closet space.
