Let's talk about BBQ - The BBQ thread

Did a few things this past weekend actually. This is a custom built smoker we put quite a bit of work into. Turns out we realized we would need to put this thing on an axle in order to move it around. You can't tell from this angle but the firebox is actually a lowboy 50 Gallon water heater. I'll see if I can dig up a pic from the other side.

Close to a 100lbs of pork shoulder slow and low. Did this one for a charity event last year.

Had a light snack over the weekend.

I hope for your neighbor's sake, you are friendly with them. It would be a damn shame if they had to sit there and smell that a couple of times a month and not get any. I would probably move.

Screw moving.

I would just be swiping one of those shoulders when he was not looking.

Oh hell yea, in fact the neighbor immediately next door was the one who donated the axle. When ever we are thirsty we fire it up and people just show up with beer and other lovely elixirs. Good times.

Have made some new friends that way too. One of them we noticed would always come out and check his mail every time we would fire it up, knowing damn well the mail hasn't ran yet. I finally said, dude stop slobbering and come over. He obliged and brought some cold beverages.

We were smoking some chickens and boar that day.

And here is the front view. You can see the firebox here.

I recently had my back deck rebuilt and the Mexican guys working had to smell the BBQ all freaking day. They left right before I pulled it off to serve so I know they were bummed to have to smell it all day and leave without some.

But the next day, I invited the guys into my home, fixed them a huge plate of pulled pork, Mac and Cheese, beans, and homemade chocolate chip cookies.

Is this you? That's a damn good time there. How hell did you get FN to show up?

So, is that the one you built? Or the one you want to build?

It's what I'm going to build. We are talking about moving to Denver so I haven't built it cause I can't move it. But I will be building one within the next 18 months.

I'll be teaching some BBQ heathens in Co what real BBQ is.
