today?

It was okay. Our fanbase gets a lot of flack from the Huddle, but when the team gives them something to cheer for they show out.

By something to cheer for I don't mean 8 consecutive run calls up the middle.

Even then though, you can feel the crowd wanting to explode and get into it and just needing a reason to.

I was also at the game. It was a very disappointing loss. The team just had too many injuries and they exhausted themselves fighting back from the horrible start.

Hopefully we don't have a repeat this season.

Also do you remember the Saints game where Delhomme played for the Saints and we were trying to win the point differential to have a chance?

I have fond memories of that 05 game.

Young guy there with his ole man at his first NFL game, got the tickets as a Christmas gift.

The stadium was eletric. i remember the upper deck trembling and shaking and me going nuts. the end was disappointing but it was a great memory for me.

after that gutty run during the second half of the season you could just taste it-it seemed like destiny that the panthers would make the postseason.  of course it ended in massive disappointment sadly.

i was pumped when the 2005 schedule came out and we got the saints in our home opener, too.  that was going to be my first live panthers game since 2001 and i was ready to see some blood.  of course things didn't work out that day either.

    • I’m not mad at Moehrig.  He’s great at what he does.  And to be honest, a lot of my favorite safeties in our history were box-first type guys - Maxie, Minter, Mike Mitchell, Chris Harris…  they’re first and foremost objective was to put people on their backs and coverage was secondary.  There is a place for that.  There is a definite need for that.  Physical guys that set the tone.  So cool, we have that in Moerhig. But what we have lacked for the vast majority of our existence is a true free safety that cleans everything up on the back end.  Sometimes they come in the form of a JOAT, like Peppers.  I think he would be a fantastic compliment to Moehrig’s strengths and weaknesses.  If we don’t go after him, I certainly hope Ransom is given the chance to grow and develop in real-time with real game reps, because what he did in preseason was very encouraging to see.  I hope he can grow into that roaming center fielder with a little bit of an edge to him as an enforcer as well.  He has the tools.  In the meantime, adding Peppers would only help.
    • Option 1 is most likely. Even if he kills it this year, it wouldn't be prudent to rush an extension for one good season. If you have to pay him more because you waited another year, then he earned it. And that's OK. Adjust accordingly.
    • Cam had the advantage of having a very strong supporting cast his first 2 seasons. Things definitely worsened later on. But those first couple of years can kill a QB. Some never truly recover. If they do recover it takes years, and usually with another team. Trying to learn to be an NFL QB with TEs and WRs that are trying to learn too is a recipe for disaster. Imagine if Cam's rookie season was that 2014 offensive squad. Changes everything! I said it when they moved up in 2023. This team wasn't ready for a rookie QB yet. Anyone that thinks Stroud would have been a lot better is delusional. The correct formula is to build a strong team and then you go get your rookie QB. Not the other way around. BY is going into his third season and we're still trying to put a respectable group of WRs and TEs around him. I think they have the right personnel now. Unfortunately they haven't developed into actual NFL players yet.  This season we should expect consistency and aggressiveness from BY. Mostly for his development but also to DEVELOP his young cast.
