He hasn't been announced starter or anything. Letting him practice doesn't mean anything.

He is practicing with starters, carrying with his hurt hand, and catching balls.

Doesn't matter if 28 is off. This shows 34 is healthy now....proceed to panic

Well the playoff comeback run was fun guys....

Really looking forward to hearing Ron next season admit he might of made a mistake not sticking with 28. We can all have a good laugh/cry together

I can see Ron saying > " We went with what we thought gave us the best chance to win. " "After reviewing the game film, we determined that De Angleo's numerous fumble's and negative yardage was caused by various breakdowns in personel,we have to learn from this and move on". :)

It makes perfect sense for Williams to be practicing given that Stewart has not exactly been the definition of healthy and at least I remember back to 2005 when we lost the championship game in large part to having no running game and being so one dimensional.  Both the starter and the backups were hurt.

Truth is that if Williams is named the starter it will largely be in name only.  Stewart has been playing very well and has made some tough yards when we needed it.  Stewart will get the majority of carries in any case.  And that is really the issue, who will play the majority of the time nor who starts.

But don't let me try to add any logic to this chicken little scenario where the sky is falling.  Carry on.................

Ok so he's healthy... Doesn't mean he's going to play much. People here literally have no trust in Rivera. I have just enough to think that it's possible he'll come to his senses at this point. I'm not going to jump the gun and get pissed at RR just because DeAngelo is practicing. This thread would be more appropriate if RR named DeAngelo starter.

The problem is you're not using any logic.  When have you ever seen this coaching staff stick with the hot hand?  I'll give you a hint.  The answer is never.

You are claiming Ron will do the painfully obvious.....

Ron's track record proves he struggles with such things. You state X will happen....and Ron's track record shows you can't assume that as fact.

I don't care who is listed on the sheet as a starter. Point is I believe Williams will obtain at least 50% of the rush attempts. The fact he likes to use Williams EARLY in games is most troublesome. You know, what has happened all season long despite looking inferior

I don't think it would be a big deal even if Williams was named the starter. If he comes out and breaks a big one, then Rivera is a genius.  If he comes out and fumbles or struggles then Stewart will be in on the next series and will be able to show what he can do.  It really comes down to whether Rivera believes that Stewart has shown enough starting the past few games to give him confidence that he can handle the starter role without needing extra motivation by coming off the bench and having to prove he should be the starter.

We also talked about this ad nauseum.  Williams was named the starter because Stewart struggled as a starter over his career.  So putting in Williams was not hard to do or a problem.  Hopefully Stewart has shown ovr the past few games that he deserves the starter role.

OLIne is playing well, thus the holes, thus the good days for RB's.

That is my fear....that Ron thinks it is the OL. Which I do. Which is why Williams is about to implode our rush attack, take away fear of play action and then life gets harder on the OL. You know basically back to the way life was before Ron was forced to give 28 reps bc of injury
