John Fox and Denver parting ways

I could be wrong, but my guess is that Manning is going to play next year and wanted a final shot with Gase as head coach.

I think that's why the Manning torn Quad story came out this morning.

Fox is a solid coach who won't be out of work long...if he wants another head coaching gig, he'll get it.

I read that but didn't put much stock in it as that would be a...let's say odd reason to basically quit his job. Also wouldn't look good on his resume going forward...assuming he still wants to be a head coach....?

I can kind of understand it.

You've had Peyton Manning running your team for the past several years, and now all of a sudden he's not gonna be there anymore and you're looking at a team quarterbacked by Brock Osweiler, you might consider alternate prospects.

There are some real idiots on this board

Yeah, Jim Caldwell was a genius as soon as Peyton went down. You're telling me Fox would make the playoffs without Peyton next year and all of his Omaha audibles? If you think Fox was the reason for any of Denver's success you're out of your mind.

Fox took a team QB'd by Tim Freakin' The Golden Calf of Bristol to the playoffs...

I don't care what the schedule was...that's impressive
