What were the alternatives? please show any FA's playing for less than those two, who outperformed them.[/quote ok you want to make it even more interesting add Harper to that list...then you could have Charles Woodson for three reasons leadership,a much better free saftey than DeCoud, and can be a stop gap punt returner .next is James Ihedbigo at strong saftey because he is not only of the best safties in the game defending the run but had 4picks like Harper.then ask a Stellers fan if they plan on re-signing Brice McCain...something the Panthers will not be doing with Cason this offseason.so,there you go more bang for your buck, and the list could go on and on and...

green bay also had more than double the number of picks the panthers had in that draft.  they had 11 to our 5 and picked plenty of players that nobody has ever heard of or cares about.  hell datone jones with his five career sacks was their first round pick and you could argue that the panthers drafted as many day one impact players (star, kk) as they did (lacy, bakhtiari) with fewer picks.

no GM in the league is going to make the absolute best possible pick in every round and it's insane to expect them to.  the back half of the draft is such a crap shoot and it'd do a lot of you good to actually look at what other teams are selecting in rounds 4-7.  it's mostly a bunch of crap with a few players you might have heard of here and there.

No he was not.

Byron Bell

wow what an airtight argument.  if byron bell exists then no other OT in the entire league can qualify as bad.

henderson was ranked the third worst OT in the league by PFF by the way-one spot above bell.  also it's funny how having a UDFA protect our quarterback's blind side was so insanely stupid and crazy but the solution for it apparently was... drum roll please... starting a 7th round rookie tackle there instead.

dude just point out that gettleman doesn't set the depth chart. you have to start small with the little babbies on the huddle who don't know anything.

how does that correlate with answering his question?ole let me guess whenever you post something absurd i am supposed to automatically read between the lines, and know by all means that nippleshorts does no wrong, right.look,i don't have a problem with that buddy as long as it makes you happy.

The David Bakhtiari from the University of Colarado?  Nah we didn't need him.  We had our prized find from Valdosta State, Edmund Kugbila.  I mean what a steal!  LOL  I suppose its always easy to second guess.  Hind sight is 20/20 as they say.  But damn, seriously, what were we thinking???????

i don't think that he can do no wrong.  in fact i'll point out a mistake i believe he made this season: trusting rivera to properly evaluate his roster and start the best players.

and yeah i think that gettleman is fallible and makes mistakes just like every other GM in the league.  i don't think it's a coincidence that the team went on a run and won a playoff game immediately after basically rebuilding the offensive line and back end of the defense with his draft picks/UDFA signings/street FA signings though.

yeah i agree Rivera didn't start the correct players, and was saying it practically the entire season.however, thats an entirely different subject in regards to drafting Edmund Kugbila over just about anyone especially Bakhtiari.the kid couldn't even play an entire season during his final season at Valdosta St. because he was out of shape, why do you think they demoted him to guard?i will wrap this up by saying i LIKE nippleshorts, but question his ability to draft talented tackles,(ooops didn't mean oLinmen)...i hope this coming draft he shows improvement in this one particular area of concern.
