Looking at going on my honeymoon in July. I always like to consult with the huddle prior to planning a trip. Looking at probably 10 days and was thinking of splitting time between 2 islands (leaning towards Maui and Oahu). Any advice from those who have been about nice places to stay, eat, or things to do? Also, I know there are different areas for each island. I'd appreciate any help on what areas to look for or to avoid. Enlighten me.

Congrats on getting to take a honeymoon!

 

I visited Hawaii over 20 times between 1973-1993 anywhere from 2 days to 3 weeks at a time, so please take my opinion with a relative bit of salt with respect to how long ago it was. 

 

Not a fan. I was a competing triathlete during the latter half of my Navy career and got to train and ride all over the place whenever I visited. Overly expensive and crowded, I think it was just okay.

 

For my money, any of the US Virgin Islands are far better if you're not wanting to go through the whole passport thing. I can list at least 10 Caribbean islands I'd put on my list above Hawaii.

Did seven days on Kauai. You will NOT be sorry. It's the "garden island". Much less city to be found. It's lush, beautiful, and small enough to drive around the entire island (except for one spot where there's a jungle). It even has a huge mountain that gets cold up top and is one of the rainiest spots in the US. If you want true Hawaii, I'd go here. We stayed in Princeville.

I went to Hawaii on my honeymoon 16 months ago.

 

I HIGHLY recommand you to pick Maui.

 

Things to do in Maui

 

-Luau

-Watch sunrise from Haleakala peak and then bike down the volcano

-Annabell magic show (a must)

-Discover Hawaii tour http://www.discoverhawaiitours.com/tours-by-island/maui-tours/  Book trip to Big Island to see valcanos and etc... its amazing

-Take a trip to Lanai

-Road to Hana, black sand beaches

-Sunset dinner cruise boat

-Hiking trip and swim in natural pools

 

Huge amount of food and entertainment!!!  My wife cried when we had to leave Maui... 

 

 

PS:  Do not fly thru LA... it will be a nightmare.  They will make you leave Airport and recheck ur bags... it's so retarded.

Pretty much exactly what I came to say.  Maui has plenty of "touristy" stuff to see and do but nowhere near the people and congestion of Oahu or the big island.  Because of the geography the island pretty much has 4 or 5 completely separate areas that all look and feel different from other; if you want a resort feel, stay at the Grand Wailea or in Napili/Ka'anapali.  If you want a quieter time, stay on the east side in Hana.  The wife and I spent 8 days there on our honeymoon and would go back in a heartbeat.

      Apparently some in the mediasphere are blowing up LaMelo's accident in his Hummer. Scott Fowler who never wanted us to draft him did Scott Fowler things in an interview and unfortunately LaMelo took the bait. Much bigger concern are these awful games from both him and Brandon Miller. And while I am certainly a believer that Miller has plenty of time to get it figured out the reality is we've been saying the same thing about LaMelo's at times very hot and cold game for what seems like forever now as he is going on into his sixth year. Regardless of the short lived win streak which feels more like a mirage than anything honestly. The Hornets should still leave every available option on the table after the season.

      Well it's not exactly new information that you don't have to draft a QB in the top 5 to compete for a championship. But the poorly run organizations end up with the first three picks. Most of the QB's drafted there never stand a chance. And then you have teams like the Panthers led by the Tepper's that would rather make a big splash to serve their own egos and get talked about in the media for several weeks by trading all the way up than actually being intelligent and strategic and staying put. Worst outcome in that is if you miss you can try again without mortaging your future. But there is another layer in all this. The league is changing again. Even a guy like Darnold with all his physical tools every box checked in that area did very little in the Super Bowl. Seattle had a stout roster all around. Same thing with the Eagles when they blew out the Chiefs. Yet here we are stuck with the tiniest QB in the league.
