League files motion for Hardy's evidence

there are no charges pending nor convictions. the appeal was successful and Hardy was the party that called the officials onto the scene.

no laws were broken and therefor the league can only speculate as to the occurrence and what conduct codes were broken. a lawyer could actually sue the NFL for privacy invasion, character defamation and for punishment without cause. it could get ugly.

witchunts and punishments for rumor mothering could destroy the NFL if they aren't careful.

Ben Roethlisberger was suspended without there ever even having been a trial.

Roethlisberger is easily ten times as big a star as Hardy (that's being generous, honestly) and the league suffered no consequences. And all of that occurred before the Ray Rice story ever happened. More recently, there's also Adrian Peterson.

Do you really think the NFL that can get away with suspending big names like Roethlisberger and Peterson is going to be brought to their knees by Greg Hardy?

(pretty sure people in Pantherland are the only ones who'd buy that idea)

if the league finds evidence of domestic violence and can prove it, the worst that can happen is a six game suspension.

just let the guy play, the case was dismissed in court, the NFL is not above the law.

The league doesn't have to meet a 'court of law' standard of evidence to suspend a player.

They'll do a full 'investigation' but in the end, if they want to punish him, they will.

Funny how Hardy would never have been suspended if it was not for the public outrage of Ray Rice's TMZ video. Rice plead guilty and Hardy missed a whole season basically bc of a NC legal bench ruling.

The player's Union silence is disturbing in this case.

what rules did hardy break to warrant a suspension?

someone fill me in

so is this the NFL's attempt to look for something to suspend him for?

If the evidence from the initial trial reveals photos of a bruised and battered woman (not even saying there are such pictures, just saying *IF*), I think that would be more than enough evidence for the NFL to take action in defense of the shield's "image".

Said this in another thread, but it's unlikely that the NFL will get to see the transcripts.

The defense attorney had the transcripts paid for and are his work product. Hardy, as a client, has the right to obtain a lot of his file, but the transcripts would not be included. The NFL can only control Hardy, and Hardy doesn't have the documents.

Were they introduced into evidence in the first trial or not?  If not, you would be correct.  If so, you are wrong.

No, this is still about the domestic violence.

As I said, all that has been proven us that he paid holder and she went away.

League is evaluating whether tgere us enough there to warrant a suspension.

Remember Rothlesberger was suspended even though he was never found guilty.

Not saying he should it should not. Just what I think the league is looking at.

That hasn't been proven.  It was theorized.

And we get 12M back in cap space, it's only fair for a player that was franchised.

And that we get compensatory 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round picks in the 2015 draft in addition to our normal picks.

Might as well go whole-hog fantasy fapping if you guys are gonna fantasize.

To be fair, they're in a tough spot.

Even the accusation of domestic violence puts guys in a bad spot. And let's be real, regardless of what he's done or not done, Hardy hasn't exactly done a great job of keeping his image above reproach.

And they have to defend him.

Have you ever had one of those friends you try to defend from something, only to watch him turn around and make an ass of himself all over again? Hardy's that guy, on a grand scale.

You can bet loads of women's groups and such will be watching. And fair or not, they'll have expectations.

People are disciplined all the time by employers despite not being found guilty of crimes.

People constantly repeat that the NFL has no grounds/right to punish its employees if they legally aren't guilty....they do. Just like your employer has the same ability

Not in this situation. .

No admission of guilt. .

No video of the action. .

Evidence not good enough without the "victim" testimony. .

You still seem to be under the impression that the evidentiary standards of a criminal trial are whats in play here for the NFL to take action.

They're not.

This is the sort of thing you've said over and over here that I wholeheartedly disagree with.  Hardy HASN'T made an ass of himself at all.  Does he march to the beat of his own drum?  Sure.  But he hasn't done one thing wrong since becoming a Panther.  He's shown nothing but the utmost of work ethic and has never had any off (or on) field problems before this.  And this has been, by all evidence that has been made known so far, nothing but a scam by a manipulative woman to cash out on an opportunity at the expense of a gullible, young, wealthy man.  Hardy's only mistake or wrongdoing in this entire affair has been putting himself in the wrong place (in more ways than one).
