Panthers Mock Draft Rounds 1 - 3

I'm not sure that you see the real value of picking up O'leary. he's basically a full back that can line up in the backfield, chip block, protect Cams blind side on blitzes, set up screens, run on short down yardage, keep Olson on the line out of the backfield, catch screen passes and slide out on bootlegs in the red zone.

that is quite a bit of value

When is the last time a FB was drafted in the 3rd round? I think the guy has a decent chance to have a long NFL career as a #2 TE/H-back type player, I just don't see value in that type of guy in the 3rd round. Nor do I think he'll go that high after running like an OL. I think he has a better chance of going undrafted than he does of going in the 3rd

I hate mock drafts, just abunch of pipe dreams fun to get to know the future of the nfl tho which is pretty much all that they are good for.

That's exactly what they're good for, why is that a bad thing?

February and early March are terrible, terrible times for people hardcore NFL fans.

He could replace Tolbert at a fraction of the cost. I'm not 100% certain Tolbert isn't cut this year.

he's versatile and would be a better replacement for Tubberts if the FO decides to cut him.

Oh great another versatile player Shula won't know what to do with..

We have way more talented TE on the roster already..

No he can't replace Tolbert. . He is no where near the runner nor have the speed of Tolbert. . He is a Brockton clone..

I wouldn't be shocked if we cut Tolbert either. Wonder if he'd be willing to take a pay cut? Not a restructure, but a real pay cut.

I just don't want to spend a 3rd round pick on a backup TE and utility type player.

I would rather pick a WR in the 3rd. O'Leary doesn't do it for me. I don't see the big fuss about him either, seems a little over hyped. #jussayin

I don't see it either. . I could see if he was uber athletic. . But he's not.. The worst TE draft in years and he's not even the best.. Can't we just sign Dickson again and have a better player..

    • The #Panthers explored the possibility of adding Jaire Alexander, but there was never an offer made, a league source told @theobserver.   https://x.com/mike_e_kaye/status/1935436577649401872?s=46
    • Yes I agree, the future RT could easily be christ. When he shocking re-signed here for the cheap, he said part of the reason was the OL coaching staff.  I've already thought too much about 2026. The RT has all the options, including resigning Motown. I was never a big fan, but he's solid and peptides and stem cells can fix a gippy knee. If he makes it though this year and wants to return, why not for 2 years 16 million?? Or like you said give the job to Christ or draft your RT...... that I feel is the best current method. With both OGs in the 20 million per cap range and Icky......ooooooooooo boy he could be the first 30 million per OLmen in NFL history. That's a huge portion of cap space for the OL, which I agree with, but in order to offset those 20 and 30 million deals... you need cheap rookie contracts. (unless Motown would take a huge pay cut and whoever the C will be).  This is the deepest OL I can recall in Panthers history.  I believe Morgan should try and trade either Kingston or Zavala.  I didn't even talk about Yosh, Tarquin, or Walton. Yosh is same age as christ and why not him as RT after good swing tackle years? Tarquin is a UDFA on the prayer program, 150,000 in guarantees and why not him in 2026? Walton seems to be a OL coach favorite, he followed the Tampa Bay staff here after 2 years there and add in one year here, he's stuck around for some reason. I think they need to spend very light on RT and Panthers have lots of options, I love it.
    • That better not be the case. They need to be ready week 1. The easiest part if their schedule is the first few fames
