Looked much sharper than Delhomme tonite. I think hes a better quarterback- more accurate with his passes, doesnt throw into heavy coverage just to get rid of the ball, and doesnt have the Jake spaz factor.

What are the chances that he could start over Delhomme by mid season?

Does anyone else think that Delhomme looked pretty damn good tonight?

He seemed to have much more zip on the ball than pretty much all of last year. Not saying a stronger arm is going to instantly make him a better quarterback, but I think he's improving.

And no, I'm not a BJDJS, but I don't think Delhomme played so badly that we should be looking to replace him with McCown, who was playing against second- and third-string players.

Dude, I am thinking the same thing about Delhomme. He barely missed Smitty on the deep pass. That is usually caught by smitty.

The difference between Jake's play from NY and Baltimore is night and day.

he looked pretty terrible against NY. I even thought Moore would beat him out as the #2 at that point.

Delhomme brings more to the team.

Most did, and he still may. Moore got more time last game, and now McCown's still got his chance.

It just goes to show that backup quarterbacks really are the most popular guys in town. From third-string veteran quarterback to replacing the starter of the last six years, all in a week's time.

McCown is seriously moving up the depth charts.

He seemed to be accurate from the pieces I saw. He almost threw a pick on that one to King early in the game though.

Didn't have Ravens harrassing him the whole night either, the way Jake did when he was facing the 1st team defense.

    • Yooooooooo... WTF is this hairline bro??? It's OVER! Shave it off my man!
    • He's a free agent next year actually. Wish we had the balls to bring him in to compete, looking around the league though he might get a legit starting offer or at least an offer to compete somewhere that he would control his own destiny.
    • I don't love Bryce Young.  I DO understand his abilities as a QB. I dont expect him to do things that are beyond that. I also dont hold it against him.  The ability to throw 40 yards in with the velocity to take your receivers hands off, doesn't have the impact on the game as people think it does.  I think it's a pretty silly thing to even attempt to debate, when the ones crying about it doesn't add context.   Bryce can and does throw deep.  His last TD to T-Mac was a thing of beauty,   and the ball placement was incredible,  especially for the distance of the throw.  I get it y'all want to talk all day about his physical limitations, rather than look at what he does, and does well.  We wouldn't be playing meaningful football in December without him.  That is a fact.  Bryce doesn't fit the mold of my type of QB, but I don't hold that against him. That is beyond stupid.
