NFL Free Agency Update Thread

If Boykin is the answer the Panthers have at the number 2 WR we are no doubt scoring more FGs instead of more TDs. I just heard a guy on WFNZ in the Green Bay area literally say the one thing he seen when we played GB last season that the Panthers do not have is play makers for Cam. At least someone who follows a winning team is in agreement with me.

Please stop making ludicrous statements like calling Bersin and Boykin #2 WR's. You're doing yourself no favours at all. We get it, you want the team to get a legitimate #2WR for Cam. We all do. But stop saying the Panthers are doing nothing to help Cam. We just drafted a 1st round WR that hauled in over 1,000 yards and 11 TD's. We just extended Olsen another 3 years and Dickson too even if his role was limited. We've brought back Ginn to provide more competition and speed that we lacked last year. The draft is setting up nicely for another quality WR to fall to us, that is really the best option for us at this point.

We don't have 30 mill in cap space that these other teams have, we are still on a limited budget. If we make stupid moves by paying 8-10 mil for a #2 WR we are going to be in a position where we can't extend Cam, Keek, Star or KK. I know you don't want to lose these players either, so please, sit tight and let this play out. Next year is the year we'll have cap room to spend like morons if we choose.

Former #Chargers RB Ryan Mathews is on a plane to Philly. He has agreed to terms on a 3-year, $12M deal, source said, pending physical.

Eagles are gonna sign every injury plagued player in the league.  Traded for a MLB coming off a torn ACL.  Traded for a QB coming off of a 2nd torn ACL and every other injury under the sun, signing a RB who is seemingly never healthy.

Their IR list is gonna be impressive this year.

Breer made a good point on nfln just now. Kelly made the point in his presser as well, these are guys that would not be available if they weren't injured. Buy low approach. Some of these moves could come through. Bradford could explode. I love Alonzo. Mathews is a talented runner, sure he's often injured but not many backs aren't if you really think about it.

    • I respect his enthusiasm. Time will tell if it's warrented.
    • Oh I went off and fully entertained my wife last night as my emails go to her phone as well because of my health. So she got the whole conversation as it happened.    Like I went to games in Detroit for the cup finals, I've been to games in Greensboro, Raleigh, and Chicago as well. My mom and her nurse friend double dated one of the players from when the team was in Greensboro. "He's still with the team in some compacity as well." I know people who work for the team at the arena as well. How the hell would I not be considered a fan. Only reason I haven't gone to a game since 2022 is because of my health and money situation. Last game I went to was at United Center in Chicago and me and my wife spent around 1k for glass seats and some food at the arena and we were next to the penalty box. The pictures of the hurricane players I took are lost because my phone crapped out a few weeks later.
    • The Falcons win was a fantastic way to end the season and I think just about every Panthers fan would agree the team the coaching staff and particularly Bryce Young were impressive. We really needed that. Credit where it's due. At the same time. Now we have to establish it wasn't just a flash in the pan. We had one of those earlier in the season against the Raiders. As a tortured Panthers fan I have to acknowledge that. I know you're joking but in all seriousness I don't think the QB sneak is something for us to be concerned about in general but I would be lying to myself if I did not acknowledge that looking back at one particular game last season where we continually trotted out Eddie Pinero on 4th and short on the opponents side of the field we could use some creativity in those situations and it's also a matter of predictability. As time goes on it's something for Canales to work on and figure out. Especially with our kicker situation as it stands.
