John Clayton- Redskins will draft Mariota if he's there at 5

Remember when he was literally worshiped by Redskins fans and the National Media (ESPN)? When he didn't want to be compared to Cam?

This vid is speaks volumes..

I feel sorry for how things ended up for RG3, lol but damn I'm glad that poo is over.  The hype he received was as bad as Tebowmania.  I don't know how many people actually watched Skins games that year, but that offense was so fuging simple it was a joke... and RG3 wasn't the offense, he was just a piece.  Alfred Morris and his 1,600+ rushing yards combined with the threat of the still new read option (and the way they used it) is what made it go.

Watching Cam's rookie year and Cornball's rookie year is a night and day difference.  Cam was actually playing QB and using his talents as a runner to burn defenses - busting out runs on broken plays and read options, breaking defender's ankles with jukes.  CB3 came in piggybacking on a fad (a scheme that was a more simplified and effective version of the read option that we made popular in 2011), threw to who his coach told him to, and ran in a straight line really fast.

    • Not sure what happened with Charlotte drivers but most of these drivers should not be on the road.  Driving below speed limit, hogging lanes, swerving all over, creating bottlenecks.  I do not recall drivers ever being so bad in Charlotte…. Wonder what changed?  Any one else noticed it?
    • I agree the free agent class is thin but with all the draft capital Tulsky has I expect some big trades as well
    • I mean we haven't had a winning season in going on 8 years we have had the worst win percentage in all of sports the last few years and we spent most of last summer arguing with each other on whether to be hyped or cautiously optimistic. To the point he was trying to moderate the discourse all throughout training camp. The staff then decided to hold the starters out of preseason until the very end and we started off the season with two of the ugliest losses in franchise history. Yet apparently in his mind the problem is....the fans who are justifiably apprehensive to buy the hype again before seeing some consistency in actual games? I don't see anything remotely unreasonable about it and it certainly doesn't make anyone any less of a fan or inferior to someone else unless that someone is mentally ill.
