With a first round pick you need to have an immediate difference maker. Alot of the projected players available at the WR, OT, and DE positions at our pick are not.

 

Todd Gurley is a guaranteed difference maker, assuming that the injury he suffered was a fluke (got injured in first game after a 4 week suspension). A lot of talk about him not making it to 25, so the entire conversation we are having may become moot.

Even if gurley was taken in the first i dont see either of them getting much playing time. I really think corey will come into a more productive role. They will add a wr in the draft or FA plus with ginn back, i think there days are numbered.

Yeah I'm not depending on Brown or Ginn for much in the passing game.. Anything they offer in that endeavor is cherry on top..

But he isn't so I'm not counting him as a WR..

We could also count Cam as a RB.. Which will even more lessen the need for Gurley..

I'm just not a RB in the 1st round person anymore..

They avg. 3-5 years of effectiveness. . And it's a position I will never want to put big money into anymore. .

      The year he had another edge rusher opposite him in Reddick, Reddick ended up having more sacks. Burns was good at rushing the passer here but he was taken out of plays far too often by a single TE or you'd never even known he was in the game at all.  The Rams offer was equivalent to prime Khalil Mack or a TJ Watt. Those guys single handedly took over games and stopped drives. I can't remember a game Burns ever did that. Do we wish we had the level of production hes giving right now? Of course. Do I think we'd have it here. No.  At the time, his production was on par with Reddick, not Parsons. Pay production and incentivise potential.

      Technically our guys are in the top 6 in sacks for rookies and Scourton is tied for the lead.

      That's why so many said he wasn't worth it here, there was only DB and it wasn't enough. If Burns is feasting then the other guys in NY are doing enough already, Burns is just collecting the stats. It's what he eas built for and is finally in his perfect space to succeed. Im not as in on the new guys yet. More is an understatement but the good news is that they are rookies.
