What stresses you out?

What are your top 3 current stressors and how would you rate them from 1-10?

For me:

1. Work - 8

2. Kids - 5

3. School - 5

Being in a small business stresses me the hell out. Having Kids stress me the hell out and going to school stresses me the hell out. I need a vacation.

1. Work

2. My soccer team (adults are worse than children)

3. Family

My number 1 and 2 are close together. I volunteer to take on a soccer team with 20 adults and manage it, it's been a nightmare. After this season I will tell half a players to find another team.

Does work and finances intertwine or are they two separate functions?

Hawk's easy rules for stress management...ok...they sound easy but they are harder to do!!

1.  Don't stress over poo you have no control over.  There's enough going on in your life that you can control, so just forget about the rest

2.  Don't stress over poo that's already happened.  You can't change the past, you can just learn and move on.

My job is a 10. Almost rage quit last week and am trying to figure out if not quitting was a bad idea. Plus my previous employer wants me back and may offer the raise I asked for before I left(hinted when I talked to them this week, but not outright offered).

Not being near a whitewater river 5. Part of the reason I haven't gone back to my old job is that I want to move back to western nc so I can go back to whitewater, never walk away from something that you can't go a day without thinking about.  Probably the biggest mistake I have made so far in life.

Other then that nothing, I'm fine financially(for myself).

My wife in charge of finances :P

Don't trust my wife for finances. I checked my credit card statement and she racked up 1k in charges the last month on miscellaneous crap (nails, hair, food, shopping) and she didn't even bother to tell me.

my wife not giving a flying fug about finances while i work my ass off to bankroll her apathy and frivolousness

……that's literally it. everything else idgaf about and i live a stress free life. i find massive responsibilities and demands to be invigorating.

    • What's wrong with Damien Lewis? He played pretty well last year.
    • Official NFL Cuts Tracker Deadline for roster cuts is Tuesday, August 26th. At this moment (Friday, August 22nd) the only interesting names I see are... K Caden Davis (BUF) RB Ameer Abdullah (SF) WR Equanimeous St. Brown (SF) WR Donovan Peoples-Jones (NO) LB Khaleke Hudson (TEN) Abdullah, St. Brown, Peoples-Jones I don't exactly think we should cut anybody for but it was just interesting seeing those names. Khaleke Hudson was on the Panthers' practice squad last year I believe and might have even gotten called up? And of course, Caden Davis just because of the question mark at kicker this season for the team.
    • I'll say 6/10. I don't know that we learned a whole lot about this team during preseason that we didn't already know. We didn't play the starters enough to really get a feel for what to expect. We had one good drive against the Browns, one 3-and-out and two 3-and-outs against the Texans. That's an extremely small sample size across 3 games regardless of performance. My camp/preseason takeaways: Jalen Coker might be the best WR on this team and is certainly no worse than #2. Nic Scourton is going to be a good player for us. Possibly very good. Bobby Brown was our best free agent addition. Jack Plummer isn't an NFL QB. Not even a practice squad guy. Having anyone other than Canales and Evero call plays was a really stupid and pointless idea. Our depth is largely non-existent, especially on defense. The three areas we actually DO have depth are on the OL, in the WR corp. and at RB. I can't fathom why Dan Morgan didn't do more to upgrade ILB during the offseason. We better hope Lathan Ransom steps up at FS because if he doesn't we have a massive hole. For all the hype surrounding Sanders/Evans, Tommy Tremble is still the best TE on the roster. I'm only slightly less enthusiastic going into the regular season than I was a month ago. I think our starters on offense are solid and we should be pretty good there unless Bryce totally regresses. On defense, we're probably bottom 3rd in the league if 100% healthy and significantly worse than that if injuries become an issue. We badly need at least two of our rookies to become high-level players early (ideally one of the pass rushers + Ransom) and at least 2 of our free agent additions (ideally Moehrig + Bobby Brown) to be significant upgrades over last year. Call me pessimistically optimistic 😆
