Don't hang your hat on the "depth" concept yet, he's young and has about the same stats Kemo did in year three on the Ravens. It could be that he's a bad fit in Cleveland, but might work out very well here.

I like the look in his eyes. I like how he reacted to the laps in the story from training camp. I like that he's a no name getting a shot. And let's face it, the Browns and Rams haven't known what to do with talent over the past couple of years.

He looks country strong and apparently he has a temper that he's learned to simmer into effort. Think of that guy that's not good in a fight until he's been punched a couple of times. And he's got the size to be tough to push around.

Third year in the league, when most good players either make it or break it. Shows a fair number of tackles for the time he's spent on the field (and DTs don't make a lot of tackles usually) and he can immediately sit down with Damione Lewis and complain about how the Rams didn't know what they had back then...

We might have a winner here. Fox and Hurney have a talent for finding good players that other folks think aren't worth it. Stephen Davis, Keydrick Vincent, Na'il Diggs, Chris Harris, Ricky Proehl, Damione Lewis, Maake Kemoatu, Jake Delhomme, Tyler Brayton -- all cast offs and retreads, all valued members of the Panthers in this decade.

I hope they've found a treasure again. Of course, they also brought in David Carr and Keyshawn Johnson...

He was an UDFA and signed with SD practice squad. He then signed with Stl's active roster and was waived (affer about 2 months in 07)... He then signed with Cleveland and traded.

I don't want a Kemo replacement. Kemo was a double edged sword. The lack of pass rush from the DT spot is why the front 4 can't hack it......and we saw that last year. Sure, he is good against the run but that is it......we need some more balanced DTs imo. No reason to get excited about this guy unless proves he plays above expectations.....just a body for depth right now.

by the end of kemo's third year he had 52 tackles and 3 sacks and had played in 37 games and we got him after he had played in another 16 games, 40 more tackles and one more sack.

we were getting a bit more than what we are getting with leonard.

This was about the best we could do with a late pick. Even if he's a heavy rotational guy, if he sticks it's not a bad move. We'll probably grab one more guy with some promise after cuts.

The alternative is Hayden, folks. DTs shouldn't wear rollerskates.

I don't think we're going to solve the problem this year. We're going to have to wait until the offseason and hope that the Lewises can be serviceable at DT.

Picking up other teams unwanted players has worked well for us recently. Not just Chris Harris but Jeremy Bridges was just what the doctor ordered in '06 and '07 (minus the off field issues). Keydrick Vincent comes to mind. Oh and there is some WR named Kenneth Moore also.

I went to the Browns message board and there wasn't anybody upset about losing this guy. The thing that did surprise me is....there is speculation that Jamal Lewis is in danger of getting cut. That leaves rookie 6th rounder James Davis as the starter. Jerome Harrison has a big brace on his knee and missed most of the preseason. Cleveland appears very thin at RB and we are deep at that position.....This is pure speculation but I wonder if another Mangini-Fox trade is in the works. One of our RB's for Corey Williams. Cleveland is deep enough at DT to let Williams go. It's pure speculation.....

james davis is having a great camp for them.and was a steal for them in the 6th

plus we are not that stacked..dwill is the starter so he stays..jstew is hurt and goodson is more speed and change of pace.
