I went with C.  This was one of those picks that I initially really didn't like, but is bothering me less as time passes.  Of course I would have much rather had taken him at 57 if he had to be the pick and would have prefered Strong regardless, but at least we got a potential #2 and a target for Cam.  That's the important thing.

Strong "b" I like the pick. I hate we lost the 3rd pick to get him. DG must have really wanted the kid and felt NO would have picked him. So we do what PANTHERS do and we b1tch slap the saints and take the pick. Think of it this way...even after giving up our 3rd and 6th pick...we still have 7 picks in a 7 round draft.

Really starting to seem like both the Falcons and Saints wanted Funchess. It took another 27 picks for a WR to come off the board after we picked Funchess - so the NFL certainly believes there was a significant talent gap between Funchess and Strong (or that Strong's wrist could be a real issues).

So I'm okay with the pick. Give it a solid B. The cost is the reason it's not an A. But I 100% believe he wouldn't have been on the board much longer and while you can't make a habit of trading up - sometimes you've got to do what needs to be done.

A lot of the pundits hating the Funchess pick made fun of the Benjamin pick as well. The guys that made the call on Benji are telling us that Funchess is on par with him talent wise. And they wanted Funchess on this team. I'm cool with that.

    • Nope Still missing it. Let's try this a different way... You have two quarterbacks from schools that ran the same kind of offense - maybe even two from the same school - on a given team (not necessarily the Panthers). One is designated the starter while the other is named the backup. Why?
    • yeah, pretty sure boss.....when things match and fit in the NFL.....the results then show it.  and when they don't, well, the results show that as well.  Bryce doesn't fit.   *but I get why late season and wants to argue with everyone Mr. Scot has also turned into a please don't talk to me about stats guy as well.  Given, the stats that reflect offensive productivity work against all your present arguments.
    • Yeeeah...stats and rankings have zero to do with a discussion of scheme and skill set match. Maybe look up definitions of style vs ability and see if that helps. At this point, you've basically had three different people explain to you where you're wrong, but rather than addressing any of those statements, you're just resorting to straight deflection.  You don't get it. Either that or you're acting like you don't get it so that you can avoid the discussion because it's not going well for you. (that wouldn't surprise me either) 😄 Sme result either way, I suppose.
