NFL says Pats guilty, and Brady knew

Recommended Posts

The NFL has a problem. While in the grand scheme of things, something as simple as this probably doesn't have a huge impact on the outcome of games, it has to have SOME impact or else teams wouldn't risk violating the rules and suffering the consequences to do it. Think about how many recent Super Bowl wins have been tainted to some degree. The Saints with the bounty issue, the Pats with the spying issue, and now this. That's significant. IMO, it's time to really throw the book at the Pats. They've yet to win one cleanly and are repeat offenders.

Little late to this party, haven't read all 300 posts but I got one word: RICO

even scrub NFL players should be able to get a girl much, much more attractive than Giselle to me, like 49er FB Bruce Miller's girl here:

So she must be the one he was arrested for allegedly abusing and went on Instagram to say how he wasn't marrying her because she would be an embarrassment for a wife?

Guess it is true...no matter how hot she is, someone, somewhere, is sick of putting up with her sh*t.

CBS Sports:

"Brady's refusal to help the investigation could end up being one of the big reasons he's hit with a potentially big suspension.

In the NFL's Policy on Integrity of the Game & Enforcement of Competitive Rules, the league notes that "Failure to cooperate in an investigation shall be considered conduct detrimental to the League and will subject the offending club and responsible individual(s) to appropriate discipline."

Miami Herald:

"The last time a team other than New England won the AFC East was 2008 when the Dolphins won the division in a year Brady was injured the first regular-season game and missed the rest of the year.

Even a lesser suspension for Brady could affect the division. New England's backup quarterback is second-year player Jimmy Garoppolo. Garoppolo has thrown 27 NFL regular-season passes."

Boston Globe:

"From coast to coast, they’re calling the champion a cheater [and a liar].

...

The damage has been done to TB12 and endangers a brand that has made him millions in endorsement income.

...

“In the short term, a dirty bomb just went off right above Brady’s fancy house and he’s going to be radioactive for the next four to six months,’’ said Darren Marshall, executive vice president of rEvolution, a Chicago-based sports marketing agency. “Potential sponsors aren’t going to take his call, and he’s just got to hunker down and get through this.’’

...

How Brady responds to this major public relations crisis could determine the quality of his image for years

...

“Many athletes in the modern era have made mistakes and worse, and in a lot of those situations they have been able to rehabilitate themselves by showing contrition and telling the truth,’’ said Michael Gordon, the principal of Group Gordon, a New York crisis and communications firm. “If Brady holes up and pretends nothing has happened, it would hurt him more in the long run.’’

...

An April consumer survey by The Marketing Arm of Dallas showed Brady ranked relatively low in trustworthiness, though Matt Delzell, the company’s managing director of celebrity talent acquisition, said the results were most likely a reflection of the public’s generally low opinion of the character of players in the NFL.

The firm’s next survey is scheduled for July. “Let’s pay very close attention to Brady’s trust numbers then,’’ Delzell said.

New York Post:

"AMHERST, N.H. — The potbellied pinhead who took the air out of Tom Brady’s balls, and ripped the star quarterback in text messages to a colleague, was in a fighting mood on Thursday as he emerged from his New Hampshire home.

“Get off my property!” Jim McNally, the self-proclaimed “deflator,” shouted to reporters outside his house in Amherst. “I’m not talking! You can sit there all day. You’re wasting your time.”

    • No lie… to this day, and forever, I’m always still gonna love me some Ted Ginn.  I tell people all the time who aren’t Panther fans so they don’t know - Ted legit was our best receiver during Cam’s tenure here.
    • That game made me resign from my position as HC of UNC in my solo football dynasty on NCAA26.
    • Nah, what he did in Cleveland was damn impressive.     ain’t no way in hell we (it’s my alma mater) should’ve looked like this tonight.  That was piss poor coaching and piss poor playing.  Like they said, for both teams, this was a similar setting to when TCU played Colorado when Deion was hired.  TCU coming in to play a game against a super famous football celebrity figure with a completely overhauled roster - difference is, Colorado played up to the moment.  We just folded like a cheap lawn chair.  I was joking during the game with friends, like they really watched a whole summer of Gio and Max and decided Gio was the starter?  Hell, I bet Bryce Baker as a freshman is better than Gio.  We hyped that signing of Gio like we just won the fuging lottery, and he is complete ass.  We spent two quarters desperately not trying to throw the football - I don’t know if it’s because he can’t or what?  But there was no excuse for that.  It felt so much like the Rhule years here.  I haven’t seen such a dysfunctional offense since or before.  And then the damn defense…. I asked my friend if they just brought all 70 new guys in from a lab that does arm and leg transplants because did these guys just receive their limbs and are figuring out how to use them???  Because I have never seen a whole team look so inept.  Diving early at feet and missing them entirely, getting trucked, flailing and falling everywhere, peewee league arm tackles, always looking a step slow…  no lie, whatever the worse I could’ve imagined that debut going, take that and make it 10 times worse and I never would’ve even seen THAT happening.  Absolutely no excuse for it.  None.  All the brand power and image brought with the Belichick hire, and that’s the best he could do in his debut.  They brought MJ, LT, and Roy out for THAT???  Man, I spent 7 years of my life living there and i NEVER saw or heard of LT coming out there during that time.  They actually got him coming around to watch THAT. Bill should be fuging embarrassed.  The fuging commentary booth brought a dog in and put a headset on him as Rece Davis said, “the wheels are off, ladies and gentlemen.”  As I said elsewhere - not under Mack 1.0, not under Torbush, not under Butch, not under Fedora,  and not under Mack 2.0, did we EVER look like THAT.  Never.  You bring in a guy that is considered one of the greatest football minds in coaching EVER, and we get shellacked and don’t even look competitive???  Boy I know the boosters are shitting fuging fireballs right now.
