After just three years, Luke Kuechly is already the Panthers career leader in assisted tackles

Recommended Posts

1. People who claim Kuechly steals tackles are ignorant of his tenacity and hustle to the ball carrier every single play like it's his last.

2. Tackles by a corner aren't necessarily a good thing. It may have been a product of being close to a receiver but not close enough to disrupt or intercept the ball.

3. Let's hope CJ breaks Julius' team record this year.

While I can appreciate the solid response, the issue isn't really that complicated.

The mental midget who made the post you're addressing has, to put it kindly, issues.

Let's just say he wouldn't hate Kuechly so much if he looked more like Bobby Wagner.

Wouldn't he need like 20 sacks? Also, JP has the longest INT return in team history. Huh.

yeah against Denver. Got tracked down inside the five. I want to say we didn't score after the interception, either....

Assisted tackles? Lol. I could get myself a few assisted tackles too if given a chance. I guest Luke be stealing full tackles from folks.

guess how close i am to banning you for trolling and spamming threads with this poo.

If i'm not mistaken, didn't Luke break PW's record for most total tackles in the first 3 years for any NFL player ever?

If Willis had the record, then yeah.  Willis had 467, Luke has 473.

Where'd you hear of that record from?  I've never heard it mentioned before.

During one of the first practices that I got to watch in Charlotte (back when you used to be able to do that) Ron Meeks was the DC.

When they got to one of the first transitions - from warmups to position drills, I think - the units were splitting up and running to their respective places on the field.  Suddenly, I heard Meeks' voice booming out across the way.

"Where's Richard Marshall?"

"Where's Richard Marshall?"

"Is he running?"

Yikes :(

That was my first indication that Marshall might not be the biggest 'hustle' guy in practice.

I don't think Wagner care much about tackles. Seattle is not built around tackling. They don't allow teams to convert on downs much so not much gang tackling down field. Wagner take more pride on his athleticism, reflect the legion of boom.

A defense that's not built around tackling...

What's frightening is apparently you're not even smart enough to realize just how stupid the stuff you're saying actually is.

Scot, why do you even bother with people like him?

    • Well, as far as backups go, Kyle Allen is actually a decent one.  Better at this point than Dalton probably. That being said, Hooker apparently had an atrocious game against the Texans.
    • i wouldn't say that yet. I also wouldn't say he's done anything that makes me think he's particularly good. i think that's about right for compensation both ways for thielen considering the state of the vikings and Panthers.  The weirdest thing is that technically the panthers should be adding veteran salary cap right now; they have a high cost first overall qb on a rookie contract; that's the best advantage in the NFL in this day and age. It hasn't worked out because, well, the qb they drafted isn't good and they've ignored other parts of the team to try to bolster him.  so what's morgan really supposed to do? Are they tanking with a rookie qb in year three that the owner probably personally wanted drafted? Are they actually trying to win games this year with 80 career catches between their top three receivers? The defense is probably going to be terrible. What kind of jump are people actually expecting from Coker, Bryce, XL, and performance from a rookie to overcome that? It's not realistic.  At the end of the day I don't think Thielen wanted to end his career here and I don't blame him. Minnesota is going to compete this year and Carolina isn't. I also think this is to toss Bryce to the wolves and be done with him one way or another. There's no way this works. This is not a move you make if you're trying to win football games.
    • If he helps them win a super bowl the individual award is irrelevant.
