68th year old man attacked in waist deep water at Outer Banks.

George Burgess from Florida Shark Research at Florida International University said that there is something strange happening in North Carolina waters that attracting so many big sharks so close to shore.  He said it's almost guaranteed there will be more attacks this weekend.........

maybe it's time to close the beaches??

Many recommended to shut them down but Outer Banks economy heavily relies on tourism and local government refuses to do so.

I booked Outer Banks trip this year only few miles from all the attacks.  I will play in the send with my kid but nothing more...  The place where we staying have a nice pool...  Btw,  Dex is also going there in 3 weeks.

I mean at this point in the summer most people already have their trips booked.  People can either still go or they can be out of their money and vacation.  I never get in the ocean anyways.  I sit in the sand and drink.  They can't have attacks continuously happen.  Someone will die sooner or later.

There was a big trail of blood from the water to the sand." "There's still people here and some people have gotten back in the water, and the park rangers are just now trying to vacate the area," he said. "We will likely go back in the water, but maybe not get our whole bodies in today."

Ruby and I left the beach today exactly 50 min before a shark attack. Ruby wanted to leave because the waves "weren't fun today". Pretty sure we were swimming with the dude that got bit. Should have played the lottery today.

Some says it's very bad combination of things this year... For some reason schools of fish come near shore which attracts bull sharks and its also breading season for sea turtles and they nest in Outer Banks.... Sea Turtles is prime food of tiger sharks...  So you got Tiger and Bull all clustering near shore.

I've been diving with sharks and I surfed the entire time I was stationed in Hawaii. Underwater with the sharks wasn't a big deal but surfing Pyramid Rock I had a hammerhead brush right up against me. I guess he was just doing shark stuff, it was terrifying but i slid off my board and let the waves push me to shore.

And now Panthro will roll in and claim I'm trying to make this all about me.

    • OK honestly I don’t identify like that but if I did I would think about being the first raised on TV generation (bad), we were probably latch key/before the term was invented - because I was raised by a single working parent, stuff like that. No baby sitters until after dark. Afternoons you just waited for an adult to show up. We were the bussing generation where they tried out their social engineering and forcing the races together in school (good and bad in that), and definitely the first bunch to have to deal with the threat of the big bomb going off. I, like everybody else was taken out in the hallway at school and taught how to and where to sit and receive my radiation dose if someone nuked us. And then they killed our president right in front of us. That is probably the most destabilizing thing that gets the least attention. The atomic bomb and the potus killing.  Around t(e same time we had the Beatles and music becoming a youth thing, with the youth gaining economic power they still have today, and top it off with a good memory of childhood - all tne Coke bottle caps had pictures of NFL players in them. We collected them. I particularly remember Mick Tinglehoff Minnesota Vikings lol. Complete with flattop haircut. We had pro football before there was ever a super bowl and in those days baseball was the king of sports in the US.But football was coming for them. And soccer was what weird funny talking foreigners did lol.
    • When Kenny Pickett's arm looks noticably zippier than your starting QB you know problems are ahead.
    • Correction, meant to say Seattle had a limited passing attack in the SB.  Darnold did do enough to win.
