NFC South - Greatest Parity By Far

As part of my stat crunching in the creation of the "Panthers Winning Percentages over Time" thread, I began to notice how truly unique the NFC South has been since the creation of the current divisions in 2002.  It's quite shocking how much parity there is in our division, compared to the others which have been dominated by one or two teams.

Only 10 wins total separate the Saints, Falcons & Panthers, compared with 60+ wins separating the Patriots from the Jets & Dolphins.  Makes for great competition & rivalries in my opinion.  There's almost always a sense it can be any team's year in our division.  We need to stay sharp this season, can't think our "three-peat" is gonna come easy!

The results are similar to the NFC East where 15 games separate the top 3 teams. Note that the NFC-south and the NFC- East are the only divisions where three of the four teams are above 500. In most every case there  ere two top teams and the rest are under 500 sometimes way under. In New England's case there are 3 sucky teams.

If anybody would ever step up in the afcn or afcs, ESPN would still kiss Shady and Luck's ass. The nfcs has been the toughest division for years, and yet only the saints are winners and have the best chance to win year aftrr year. Even a 3peat will not change the attidudes towards the Panthers.

You're forgetting that the Falcons are always an "edgy" pick to win the Superbowl  because.....I don't know, Atlanta has a high murder rate or something. And the Bucs are annual free agent champions.

You're right about attitudes changing towards the Panthers though. Team could win five straight championships and that offseason be listed as #17 in someone's bullshit "post supplemental draft Power Rankings - sure, nothing actually happened but click this article you f***ing moron".

It's unbelievable how true this is despite how much the Bucs suck every year after their "Super Bowl win in March" and Atlanta being horrendous in the playoffs.
