A moment in NFL history

For those who don't know the story...

In the week leading up to the Super Bowl, Jim McMahon was on the injury report for - I'm not making this up - a bruised butt.

(One of his Bears teamates later said on NFL films, "How would you like to have that on your injury report?")

Media being what they are, McMahon got a lot of questions about it, and was rather annoyed by the whole thing.

So on this day in particular, as a teammate put it, he just decided to " show them the area in question."

I believe he got fewer questions about it after that.

These days he would have been suspended 4 games conduct detrimental, Goodell would implement a "No Butts" policy, and there would have been an OTL episode about it with the only person interviewed being the one lady who claims she was emotionally scarred by seeing a full grown male butt.

Didn't someone get fined for pretending to moon?

    • I don’t know about floor in a team defense sense but we needed more.  The floor that I am familiar with is our QBs floor and it is so low that every other part of the team needs to be beefed up.     We tried our best to improve these things and I think we did improve the defense and we at least kept the offense  from sinking from no LT.  And ostensibly helped the receivers too.   So we kept a window open that we at least have a chance to improve our record by a game of two.  Which would probably give us the division.

    • Yeah. I am one of. those who think a JAG RB can eat with really good blocking. (Brooks is most important in my mind, in tbe passing game and that is what we’ll lose without him)  There are a lot of aspects to this. The big one that caused us to struggle is Young and his arm scared no one.  Best back, best blocking still cannot defeat a really good defense if they are not forced to respect the pass.  And teams did not.    But, a strong OL and running game Can get us over against weaker defenses.  And if Bryce still doesn’t scare anyone we can still win some games. Like last year  So it is really important to tend to that OL.   Get that straight and see if in his fourth year he can finally back defenses off. That is what if is all about this year to me, on the Bryce front.
