2015 Carolina Panthers should just give up?

How many Huddlers here think that the the Panther players and coaching staff are  telling  themselves and each other that the season is over?

Do you really believe this group of world class athelets that are a very prideful by nature are giving up all hope for a successful season because of the KB injury

Hell no!!! I imagine they're using all this negativity from the media and fans as bulliten board material to stoke their competitive flames even more than before.

They know more than anyone how important KB was to our offense,  but they also know that their is enough talent and pride on this team to step up and cumulatively fill the void.

Our O-line is improved, we're stacked at the RB position,  young and promising WRs that now have the opportunity to make a name for themselves. The fact that Cam is %100  healthy cannot be overstated and last but not least, a potential top 5 defense, should give reason for much more optimisim than many are showing.

I'm looking at either of these 4 things happening:

1. Funchess becomes a 1000 yd receiver and exceeds everybody's expectations, while our other receivers pick up the slack

2. Our defense returns to form (top 5) and we field a top 10 rushing attack

3. We really do turn into dogsh*t where we get a top 5 pick and a potential Shula firing (not a bad consolation prize)

4. We just go 7-9/8-8 (mediocrity) and nothing happens which IMO is the worst thing that could happen of the 4.

Good post OP.  Obviously you're not an NC State fan (my allegiance on Saturdays is Tennessee Orange fwiw), but EVERYONE should watch the "Survive and Advance" 30 for 30 about "never giving up" in sports or life.  I also doubt these Panthers will "just give up".

I honestly didnt even read the post and just assumed this was another suicide shitpost. There is seriously so many of them that ones like this will go completely unnoticed.

We look like the Saints Report right now over one player and its embarrassing.

ok. I understand now. It's mind boggling the extent of all the fatalistic post from some fans on this board.

    • Bryce and Dave will determine how many games this team wins next year. It’s not on the WRs. The RBs. LBs. This is about 2 things: 1. Can Bryce continue to come up big in the few key downs that decide most games?  2. Can Canales evolve his play calling to counter punch like the big boys do. Half time adjustments.  teams that score 30+ points on the regular win more games than not. That’s on Bryce and Dave. The offense is top 10 at every position group, save for TE and QB. A baller TE is gravy but not crucial when the receivers are dudes.  The defense is the defense. It’ll be better this season, hopefully by a large margin, but Dave/Bryce is really where it’s at.
    • Normally I'd wholeheartedly agree with this. But I feel like teams figured out this offense after the Raiders game. Bryce was so inept the first 2 games that we couldn't really even run the offense. Dalton's first game showed what we had. But after that game, coverages got a lot tighter and windows were smaller. When Bryce came back in, his ability to extend plays made a big difference. It's really difficult to stop a QB that can beat/escape 1on1 tacklers. It puts a lot of pressure on the defense when you blitz. And he was completing throws in tight coverage with anticipation. Point being Bryce wasn't throwing to wide open receivers that were schemed open by the offense. Occasionally yes. But not often.
    • With the additions we've made to our roster combined with the state of the division and the conference as a whole there is no excuse for this team not to make a legitimate push for 8-9 wins. Anything less is honestly inexcusable. There will be no more free passes for being a doormat in this iteration of the league where even mediocre teams are competing for playoff spots.
