Looks like Panthers have signed WR Kevin Norwood

To be fair, Terell McClain does have an all-pro huddle account

I recently downloaded the free 2012 Football Mogul software game and started GM'ing the Panthers.  It was hilarious.

Fua and McClain were frickin' monsters for me.

Cam started out average and just got worse.  Blaine Gabbert became one of the best QBs in the league.

I'm thinking their algorithm for that game is a little cloogy... lol

as a fan, I'm not in favor of a guy I've never heard of, let alone the fact that he was on the first rnd of cuts and not the last. To me it seems like there will be better WRs on the last round of cuts, or even snag a PS guy.

BUT

I trust our scouting department, Proehl, and Gettleman.

I feel like you're searching too hard for fault with a trade in which apparently we only give up something if he makes a contribution...

No, my complaint is why trade ANYTHING for a guy who sucks, when we can just sign a guy that sucks?

IMO, there are guys available that are better with more potential than Norwood.  Obviously, I'm not an NFL front office executive, but I trust my eyes and there are guys who can play available and we just continue to turn a blind eye to them as if they don't exist.  And what if we sign a guy like Moore off the street and he comes in and sucks too?  What's the difference?  One guy you're giving up a pick for so he can suck, one guy can be signed without giving anything up and has past production and better potential athletically.

I absolutely hate our philosophy on WRs.   I just don't understand it.  This was so stupid...   For everyone talking trash about how there isn't anything better among free agents, you're telling me we couldn't have found better than Norwood?

We love guys with horrible measureables and who generally suck (KB the exception).

6-2/200 and a 4.4. 40 are horrible measureables?

So I guess I'm crazy but I actually like the move. I mean yeah FU GETTLEDOUCHE and all that if we'd traded a lot for him but it's a conditional late round pick on a guy that we were interested in and went in the 4th just a year ago. And get this, he doesn't have tennis rackets for hands.

Regardless, I think people need to come to grips with the fact that our passing game is probably going to be sucktastic this year no matter what we do. We're probably capped on how far we can go. Most teams who lost their #1 and were relying on a rookie 2nd rounder would be in the same boat.

We also may not be completely done.

But anyways, yeah. I like it. Welcome to Carolina Mr. Norwood.

well, we're way the hell down near the bottom of the waiver list for one

if we waited around for denarius moore and, say, one of the 24 teams above us claimed him first, everybody would probably be losing their minds about why we just sat around and didn't do anything like, oh i don't know, trade a draft pick to somebody for a receiver

Like what I'm reading about him being strong at getting the ball at the high point and making good aggressive catches in traffic.

Also, getting a chuckle out of him being from 'Bama with Cam from Auburn.  Do we have other Tide players on the team?

Harper and Lester come to mind.

    • Everyone knew the catch was secured and didn't move. That was clear to the entire audience. The only ones who thought it wasn't a catch were in the NYC home office. They knew they'd just offer an apology the next day.
    • NEVER FORGET!!!!   Canales was on no one's radar. Tepper couldn't get anyone to come here. He was all in on Ben Johnson. Nobody wants to work with Tepper, however Canales tenure may prove important for the next guy. This guy still has no idea what he's doing.
    • The 4th down play was poor execution by Chuba. He didn't want to get physical like Rico and cut North South to lean on his blocks from Tremble and Ekwonu for half a yard. Also, the 3rd down play before that Bryce audibled out to a QB run and almost got the 1st down was on Chuba for not knowing the play call leading to poor execution. You can see Chuba's confusion when Bryce had to realign him. Then Chuba thought he was getting the handoff and was slow to develop his double team on the DE with Tremble. Then Chuba hesitated on pushing the block and just ran to the sideline making Bryce have to loop around him. This pulled the DE away from Tremble forcing Chuba to chip on the DE late and leaving the safety as a free defender. Chuba was suppose to double down on the DE to let Tremble peel off to the safety. This allows Bryce to set up his run to the inside or outside after the safety commits. You can also see Tremble walk over to talk to Chuba after the play and Chuba shrugs which tells me he didn't know what to do. The audible would have worked on 3rd and the dive would have worked on 4th. The plays were good calls and drawn up well. The question is why was Chuba unprepared for those plays in two critical back to back plays? I like Chuba as a 1st down RB and passing downs, but I have always seen him lacking the power and vision to be a short yardage power back. Chuba didn't come prepared for the Saints game or he was thrown into a position at the 3 spot that he was never prepared for.
