our starting WR's for Jax

Captain Morgan

It is considering the snaps he got and how we got him. Colbert was a second round pick and got playing time right away.

You know why he didn't get snaps  over "all pro" talent like Avant And Cotchery .. Was his horrible body catching leading to big hits and injuries ... He can't catch with his hands so he goes to the ground quick to avoid the big hits..

He didn't have a lot of drops. He caught it with his body more than I would like, but there were enough hands catches.

I didn't say that he had a good season. He played well for a rookie, and he was undrafted free agent. Colbert was a second round pick. Plus Brown had another role than Colbert.

I don't expect unrealistic things from UFDA WR's.

he didn't have alot of targets either.. If he makes the team I expect him to do his job... number 1 on that list catch the ball with your hands...

LOL Brown a starting WR...he may go down as one of the worst starters in NFL history...I guess that's what 200 yards and 2 TDs from a super expendable UDFA gets ya in Panther land....even after one of the worst pre season performances ever by a Panthers WR...

Even his 1 catch against the Steelers was a body catch...good to know he has been "working" on those hand catches...holy poo I've never seen anything like this ever.

Obviously this is the start of a revolving door that ends with the hot hands earning the reps. This "designation" as the starters says nothing to me other than you have to start with something. We lost the undisputed WR1 less than a month ago. Here's to hoping we get a surprise or two in the next two games.

Well sure hopefully. But no, I'm saying you can win without the huddle's version of an elite receiving corps. The pats have proven that many times. I think we have the core of a group that will be together a long time.

The Pats didn't have Mike Shula.. So you're adding more weights not less on Cam...

I Really ee this team as being similar to 2013.

Our offense was not good that year either. We won those games because of our defense and because our coach had balls that year. I hope we see more of the same this year, but I think our running game will be a little bit better.

Really??  Smitty may not have been the same WR.. But he still got the Respect of double teams  and rolled coverages. . Plus he caught the ball..

    • The era that you played in, and, more importantly, who you played with actually matters. Honestly, that's why these issues will be debated forever, as it's just difficult to say that this person or that person is better when you're discussing the passage of time. As for me, after Rice, Moss and maybe Megatron and T.O., there's probably a dozen or so guys that can be argued about to the cows come home. Personally, I'm not putting Fitz, Harrison, Johnson, Evans, or especially D-Hop, Jefferson, Chase or Hill definitely in front of Smitty (and Colston ain't even in the discussion). Context and all that stuff actually matters. Things like the triple crown matter.
    • Some of those guys? Yeah honestly you can.  I would 100% take Steve Smith over Larry Fitzgerald, Harrison, even Mike Evans. He is 100% a better player than those guys in his prime. If you look at the numbers Smith is historically under targeted in comparison to his contemporaries. He was only targeted 150 times or more only once in his career. Fitzgerald for example was targeted well above that 9 different seasons. Had Smith played with Peyton, Brady, Greatest Show on Turf, or even with Warner in Arizona he would broken records. His 2008 season was ridiculous accumulating 1400 yards in 13 games on less than 80 receptions. All time he also lost a season due to injury in 04, barely played WR as a rookie. Got robbed of 1k season with Clausen. Thats easily another 1800yds minimum that should have been tacked on to his #s. The only guys I’d say for certain are better than Smith are Rice, Moss, TO, Megatron, Julio Jones, Antonio Brown.
    • I parked in this lot a few times. It would take over and hour to get out of that lot after games. Never again
