Updated Depth Chart on Panthers.com

When will they announce the 46 man active roster for game day?  Friday?  I forget the timeframe for normal game weeks - it seems like forever since there's been real NFL football to watch.  Woohoo!

Anyone want to predict who gets left off the gameday roster?

I'd guess:

  • Ryan Kalil (injury)
  • Star (injury),
  • Colin Jones (injury),
  • Joe Webb,
  • Either Richie Brockel or Brandon Williams (both have had some injury issues, not sure which of them is more game ready, I'm thinking Brockel is still injured?)
  • That leaves two more who don't make it... I'm wondering about Wegher and Norwood.  Ben Jacobs is also far back in the depth chart...

Obviously a lot will depend on the injury status of players like Kalil, Star & Norman.

Probably David Mayo, Dean Marlowe, or Amini

This will change drastically.

Once the Panthers lose 8 games. This is Rivera and Gettleman you are talking about. They tie themselves to their horses at the beginning of the season and do not blink until they are sniffing a .500 record at best.

Funchess, Norwood, Thompson, Benwikere, and Boston all need to start to give this team the best chance to win.

That alley up the defense of Ealy+Love(when he rotates in) - Klein - Harper+Coleman scares me to death. That huge bulls eye on the defense is going to cost the Panthers against poor teams like the Jags and Bucs to start the season. That is the big play alley every team will be looking for since they can avoid Davis, Kuechly, KK or Star, and CJ.

Really bad decision. Almost as bad as the sieve that was Addison+Cole - Klein - Harper+DeCoud+Cason over the first 10 weeks of last season.

    • The only thing I know is nfl red zone.
    • We put a ton of high draft capital into young WRs over the past few years. We drafted a WR in top 2 rounds of the draft in 4 out of the past 5 years. At some point, we need to rely on the dudes we drafted vs relying on veteran role players. That's the only way we're going to evolve as a team and take the next step to going back to winning again.  Remember when Cam lost KB and everyone thought it was the end of the universe? And 2015 happened.  Maybe losing Theilen and Coker will open some opportunities for some other guys to step up.
    • So apparently in the time between the end of the last football season, and now, a TON of streaming sites have been taken down. From what I remember most of these idiotic offiicial streaming services that offer NFL games don't ever offer ALL of the games. I remember subscribing to one service on youtube last season that cost hundreds of dollars and it would still constantly tell me games were either blacked out or unavailable, which is totally ridiculous. Is there any one service that I can watch ALL of the games on?? It gets on my everlasting nerves already that there's so many different streaming sites and they are all expensive as hell. I don't want to take out an entire additional car payment to subscribe to 4 different streaming services to watch all the games. Is there just ONE I can subscribe to? The most comprehensive thing I have access to now is Sirius XM. It's only 10 ish bucks a month and I can listen to the home or away broadcasts of any game. Only thing is I can't WATCH the games but this seriously comes in handy if I'm out doing something, driving, or can't stay still at the moment to watch the games. But usually I'm off on Sundays, so I mostly want to watch them.
