It is stories like this that make me glad we have the owner and general manager that we do. Gettleman wouldnt have been hired if the Big Cat didnt agree with the direction he was going to take the team, and its obvious that Gettleman is building this team to be a perennial contender while maintaining financial stability. Yes, it takes alittle longer, but the results will be worth it. the plan all along has been for 2016 to be the year things open up, and we already have a strong roster.

meanwhile, Arthur Blank cuts the knees out from under his front office and mircomanages everything, and puts undue pressure on a new coaching staff to win now with a roster that is bound to fail at that task. if it weren't the Falcons, i'd feel bad for them. But as it is... i'm afraid i'll have to relish the tailspin. i do feel bad for Falcon fans, because i know i wouldnt want to spend my money on a team promising me years of depressing football seasons in exchange for the hope that the largely flawed current roster can make some noise this season and maybe next.

i dont want to get ahead of myself, but if the NFC South continues its current track, its going to resemble the AFC East or AFC South of the past decade, with the Panthers assuming the role of the Patriots or Colts, respectively. the other organizations are terribly run and are frantically reaching for anything that will prop the window open just alittle longer. Well... i guess thats not entirely fair. The Buccaneers are trying to get back on track. but the jury is still out on the moves they've made the past couple seasons.

in other words, its a good time to be a Panther fan. Keep Pounding everyone. ;)

I can't really blame Blank for his stance. Mike Smith came along and rebuilt that team with a lot of talent and under him they proceeded to under achieve...they have under achieved for awhile now when they had the talent to win.

So they got rid of smith and kept the GM and I'm not surprised  Blank is in win now mode..as mentioned in the article Matt Ryan's window is closing when it comes to his prime years.

The NFC South may have the most dysfunctional owners as a whole of any division in professional sports in the history of Western Civilization.

I love JR for what he did back in the day but he is not a "present company excluded" type of guy in this discussion.

Thank God for Gettlebritches.

<The Falcons hope Quinn's prowess will improve a weak defense and conjure up a pass rush that was nonexistent last season. The offensive line and rushing attack are concerns entering the 2015 season, but Blank's reasoning behind his win-now mentality is sound: Matt Ryan. >

Shlt-pants?  He is your savior?

Bless.

    • Nah, just because someone would rather put the eggs in the main guys’ basket on a complete it or go home play doesn’t equate to dissing the least experienced WR on the field in order to make Young look bad. That’s ridiculous frankly.    You supporters do act like no one has any grounds to criticize 4 and out with three timeouts and 30 yards to gain. It was pretty disappointing, you have to admit.    This other stuff with the negative on him, well let’s see how the season starts next year, it is all over but the arguing for 2025.     We, understandably, do not want to be in a Tua situation long term.    Myself, I have stated pretty clearly what it will take to drop my misgivings and as good a few games as he did put together, that bar has not been met. And if you want to win in the NFL your QB  has to unlock this poo.    Raise the floor, make it consistently repeatable, and the other thing is be able to beat someone with the arm, when made one dimensional.  How the hell is that unreasonable? We are looking at 4 years.
