Should've just locked Luke in the film room all week watching film on the Bucs and Saints with no intention of playing the Texans so he can get a head start on preparation for those games.

Even if the doctor clears him, I don't want to take the chance of bringing him back so soon.  LBer is an extremely physical position, and your noodle gets jarred quite a bit from all the impacts you regularly have in the game.  It's not worth it rushing him back against the fuging Texans and potentially worsening matters.

That didn't look like your typical mild concussion that he sustained.  It was a rough one.  He lost all control of his motor functions, fell down, tried to get up, fell down again, and was completely out of it for a minute.

His brain needs to rest.  Does not need to be watching film.

I don't think Carolina has any intention on playing him.

Just dragging out the process as part of gamesmanship

  1. Luke Kuechly, through a team spokesman, declined an interview request today. I wouldn't read too much into that.
