Fox is just quiet about things....he has never been much of a gameplanner. Eagles know what is coming.....the question is can they stop it.

Smoke and mirrors grasshopper, the preseason was an intentional sham to throw off the opposing teams, ESPN's, talking heads and even the fans. You heard it hear first.

Many make a lot of how some coaches like Belichick is able to game plan and justly so. But there is something to say about Fox's style. There is a reason why the Patriots have had a hard time with the Panthers. There really is no game planning around a Fox lead team. Either you can beat them man to man or you can't. I think that is the reason so many people around the league respect Fox and you hear guys like Gurden say things like "You know when you play a John Fox team they are going to be prepared." It's not like other coaches don't do that or that the Panthers are always on their A game. It's the fact that the players come into a game knowing their job and knowing if they accomplish thier job they are going to win.

Yeah I was thinking faster than typing. FIXED

Just figured that the media didn't matter all too much. I mean, after everything is said and done, everyone instantly forgets what "____" said on ESPN about who would win, how the week would turn out and who is going to the superbowl.

Furthering your point actually, I think that Fox completely neglects everything other than football itself. That's a good thing; a coach is supposed to be focused on the game itself. Thus, I just assume he's playing (as in, tricking) the other teams, if he is playing at all.

I want to see a trick play in the opening drive for the Panthers: like the fleaflicker bomb to Moose at the outset of last season's game against Green Bay, except this time I want him NOT to fumble it right after he catches it. :)

I want to beat Philadelphia at their own game -- by completing short passes to our running backs and letting them work their magic. :D

    • While I'd love to add him, it just doesn't make sense for where we are at in our re-build right now. The only teams who should be interested are those who have a very legitimate shot at winning the SB this season, as any team who makes the trade is going to be mortgaging their future to make the move. Teams who make these kinds of trades and then give them the massive contract, in the hopes that it will expedite their path to contention, ALWAYS ends up backfiring because they have to give up the 1st round picks that are then needed to help build out the rest of the roster after eating up such a significant chunk of the cap on the new contract. There is no way the Cowboys trade him for anything less than 2 future 1st rounders (and probably more), plus we'll have to make him the highest paid non QB in league history.  Not to mention that it would then have made the Scourton and/or Princely picks a bit of a waste, as those 2nd and 3rd round picks would have been better off used on a ILB or DB
    • Like his approach to pre season that's ro get them out there and play together for a few plays and right about the night before and morning before.  Maybe we can come out the gate on fire I can smell the smoke from here!!   Go Panthers
