Greg Olsen coming up on Sportscenter

Captain Morgan

take us through that last play

"we had called that exact play on the drive before....there was nobody up that seam, Cam put the ball in a perfert spot."

4 drives of 80 yards in Seattle...how

"early in the game it was the guys up front and J Stew, he doesn't get enough national credit.  The o line was controlling the line of scrimmage.  in the 4th our passing game found it's rhythm

what does this win mean

"it 's a big confidence booster.  It's not a playoff game, it's the 5th game of the season, but Seattle's had our number.  It felt good, got the monkey off our back"

Cam mvp talk make a case

"it's funny, 5 unbeaten teams, and all the qb's are mentioned but bring up Cam and people want to debate.

Our team is not in it for the awards, we're happy playing the underdog."

and that's it

Basically said Sherman let him go on the last play, so he turned around expecting the ball on the way and Cam dropped it in perfectly.. said the Panthers aren't about being flashy, padding stats etc (haha Jimmy).. and that the 2 minute drive at the end of the game summed up who this team is.. they just go out and play to their strengths and look to keep rolling

That was an awesome interview.

He ended it on their question about Cam and why he hasn't been talked about as an MVP more, Olsen said it was funny how the QBs of every other undefeated team is in the conversation but when Cam comes up they want to debate it.   Said the last drive was the perfect representation of our team...   Said Cam was in control of the whole game, the whole drive.   Said the ball went to Stew, Ginn, Funchess Cotchery, and himself.   5 different guys touched the ball on a two minute drive and we win...  A lot of guys that go out and do their job and don't get the recognition or praise, but we're used to it,qell just keep being the underdogs.

It made me want to stfu about my WR concerns lol...

On the final touchdown play:

Called exact play, same formation, similar part of field on the drive before. Offense was scrambling to get lined up, kind of late coming out of the huddle. Guys kept their cool. Didn't know if that led to the Seattle defense being out of formation or miscommunication. When he got into his route, nobody was up the seam, thought there was a pretty good chance if he turned the ball would be on it's way, Cam obviously put the ball in the perfect spot. Huge play.

On the four 80 yard touchdown drives, and defensive schemes from Seattle:

Praise for the guys up front on the offensive line, praised Stewart's performance, and how he "wears" defenses down. When you take him out you have a guy like Tolbert who can beat you up with the ball. Offensive line was moving the line of scrimmage, controlling the line. Seattle has tremendous talent, run that system really well. You know where their going to be. It's just a matter of executing. In the 4th quarter the passing offense finally found their rhythm obviously.

On what the win in Seattle means for the team:

Big confidence boost of course, were careful all week to not try to make the game bigger than it was. Not a playoff game, not the Super Bowl, it was the 5th game of the season. But at the same time, if you want to continue to climb the ladder, then you've got to beat the team that has been at the top of the heap in the NFC the last couple of years, that's been Seattle. Talked about close losses to Seattle over the years where we let the games slip away. Felt good. Finally got that monkey off their backs, just got to keep rolling.

On Cam, and the case for MVP:

Talked about how all the QB's on the current 5 undefeated teams are in the conversation, but how when it switches to Cam, everyone wants to get into a debate about it. It's just a story of how things go, we don't get too wrapped up in it. We hear what everybody says, we understand that, we're not too concerned about it. Thinks that 2 minute drive really sums up our team. Cam's in control of the game, no huddle, first play to Stew, then Teddy Ginn, then Funchess, then Cotchery on a big 3rd down, then me. Had 5 guys touch the ball on the 2 minute drive. It's just the story of our team. We're not in it for the awards or the storyline. It's not our demeanor. We're happy kind of playing the underdog.

Anyone who has access to the All-22 can verify or refute this. (Couldn't see the safety from the television camera) Cam pumped left after looking that way from the snap and then came back right to Greg, and it appeared that Thomas was recovering from being led to the left side of the field, which suggests to me that Cam moved him that way with his eyes.

Sherman was covering around the 15 yard range so as to hopefully be able to make up ground on a vertical route or the same route while being in position to cover the guy in the flats, Whittaker was open in the flats that play which caught Shermans attention.

In summary, I don't think Seattle got mixed signals. I think Cam froze the safety, the guy in the flat held Sherman, and Greg was going up the right seam. The play call by the Panthers confused Seattle. If someone can pull the All-22 and verify this for me, that would be great.

All I know after watching that was Greg was cool as a cucumber but at the same time his eyes were burning with intensity, not sure if others noticed, but you could tell how he wanted to tell the whole world to eat poo and for the media to blow him.

Greg knows how to speak clearly and intelligently, and his use of veiled sarcasm makes him a winner in my book, the guy is legend.

Also, just something of note to add. I hadn't seen these, but Sportscenter showed a few brief interview blurbs from Seattle's secondary after the game, consensus was the final touchdown play was a "fluke". Their words there, not mine. Particulary from Sherman. I already didn't much care for the Seahawks as far as their blatant arrogance goes, but that poo is seriously weak. Give credit where it's due, if you want to be a champion, act like one.
