Steve Smith's son thinks we should make a trade for a certain WR before the deadline

Hmm, for that to have been put out publicly like that sounds like it might possibly have been a topic of conversation within the Smith household.  For someone as prideful and stubborn as Smitty this might be his way of saying "baby give me one more chance"

Now I know the chances of it happening are absolutely slim to fuging none, but it's an interesting possibility.  I definitely wouldn't be opposed to it as long as it were made clear this isn't his locker room anymore.

As long as we didn't give up anything of significant value I wouldn't have a problem with it for the simple reason he would help us win.  I agree that Cam feeling obligated to target him more than he should just to keep him quiet is a concern but I wouldn't not do a good deal just because of that concern.  Can't imagine it happening though.  It would be an interesting day on the Huddle for sure.

I've moved on, but I wouldn't be opposed to trading something for Smith. Let's get that man a ring.

I'm usually one of those guys that don't want to hear about him until he retires, but he's a legend and if we make it the superbowl, I want that man to have a ring.

    • Btw... only Mitch fugging Marner has a better +/- than Key 🔑!!! And, Mitchy needed 5 more games and almost 100 more shifts to get there.
    • I was honestly flabbergasted to see Rod send out Stanky and the boys to to matchup against their top line to start the game. The reason that line has been so effective is because they've been matched mostly against 2nd and 3rd lines all year. You've got last change. Use it to your advantage.
    • Nobody played well on defense last night. But, the vitriol towards Chatfield (and to a lesser extent, K'andre) is bigly misplaced. People (not just you) just refuse to accept how bad Slavin has been this season. And, I get it. Canes fans (and informed analysts) have spent nearly a decade trying to explain to casuals just how good Jaccccob is at hockey. 4Nations happened and the hockey watching public started to listen. National media even started floating the idea of creating a new award in his honor. Then this season, he gets hurt. It happens. NBD. But, when he finally came back, it wasn't the same. He'll get back to his old self in no time. Probably just some rust, it'll be fine. Only, it wasnt rust, and he's not fine. He's bad right now. It wasnt just last night. Although, that was absolutely the worst game of his NHL career. Slavin (-4) currently has the 3rd worst +/- of anyone left in the playoffs. We've  been begging the world to recognize Jaccob Slavin's greatness. And, by the time we finally got people to listen, he shits the bed! I blame Kash!
