The Titans make me worry with their short passing game

The Titans are no joke. They are better than what their record shows. I've always felt like short passes kill us. I have a feeling this will be a difficult game. Marcus is a solid rookie and will be a fine qb.  Hopefully we can keep pressure on him and disguise coverages. They d is physical as well they match up well with us. Will be a tough game

Their new head coach was their TE coach 2 weeks ago. In his first game as head coach last week, guess who had big days vs. the Taints?

TEs Delanie Walker and Anthony Fasano

Expect more of the same, especially if Kendall Wright can't play again this week. DGB has a very limited route tree from what I hear on their boards, since he missed so much football before he was drafted and apparently isn't the sharpest spoon in the drawer.

in fairness, Delanie has been playing well all season.  Found the endzone though, one was off what possibly was the worst pass of the game.  Better to be lucky than good though, Walker still make a great play after a ball that should of gone 30 the other way.

in fairness, if all you are really asking your QB to do is dink super fast to one read.....you don't really get a chance to show what type demeanor he has yet.  RGIII won rookie of the year doing that.

That isn't really all we are asking him to do though.  He has so many quick throws against the Saints because obviously it was working pretty well.  He's also shown the ability to stand in the pocket, scan the field, and find the right guy.

I'm not sitting here trying to make him out to be the second coming.  I'm just saying he's impressed me so far.  Definitely the best thing we've had at QB in quite some time, not that it's saying much.  I think Mariota is going to be a very good QB.  Will he ever be elite?  Who knows.  But given our history I'm fine with "just good" right now.

I'm not inviting him over for afternoon tea :P

Have to ask the tough questions to find out how much they actually know to see if it's worth my time to start a conversation with them or ignore them as superficial bandwagon trolls. Better to find out right away how thick their skin is. You're welcome.

Bandwagon?  lol you do realize I'm a Titan fan right?  I could probably think of about 25 other bandwagons to hop on before the Titans if that were the case.

As to the original question, if he's getting the ball out that quick they almost have to be timing routes with maybe 2 QB reads max.

If you aren't overly worried about getting beat deep, then you try to disrupt the timing by bumping the receivers in the first 5 yards.

Pull it off, and good things happen (sacks, int's).

You don't have to feel too bad about Levitre. The Falcant fans are b!tching up a storm about him, too.

Have to thank you for hanging L's on the Taints and Sucs. Wish you could have done the same to the Falcants. I was yelling for you that day. And it does fill my heart with joy whenever MM is up for or wins an award and Crabbey doesn't.

I know Lebeau's your DC now, hence the solid defense. I respect what that man can do, but he's gonna have his hands pretty full with us. As far as our defense, I just can't see anything more worrying on your offense than we've already faced.

I agree with you.  I already said in another thread you guys are clearly the better team.  We have no major offensive weapons aside from perhaps Delanie.  But at the end of the day these are all NFL players and if we can keep the mistakes to a minimum I think we have a chance in this one.  It's pretty much all going to come down to our OL.  They played well last week and didn't give up a single sack and only allowed two hits on the QB.  That said, there's a big gap between the Saints and the Panthers defenses.   Personally I think our OL is going to get manhandled although I hope that's not the case.

Ray Horton is still technically the DC, although it's pretty much in name only at this point.  Everyone knows Lebeau is the guy running the show.

I actually like Cam.  I do think he had a bit of a crap attitude early on but I figure he was just young and used to things going his way.  He seems like he's matured quite a bit recently.  Either way he's fun to watch.

I personally thought it was funny he ripped the banner down.  I figure it's fair game when you bring that crap onto the other team's home turf.

I'm not real worried. We've dealt with Matt Ryan's dink and dunk checkdown bullshit for years now. Mariota is gonna be a good QB (said all along that he was gonna be better than Winsnone, still stand by that), but he's still a rookie on not so great offensive team.

The game will come down to the Titans defense vs our offense. They have a pretty good front 7 and Lebeu was fuged over by bad Steeler defensive drafts. He still knows what he's doing.

1. Stuff the run on early downs. If he's throwing short passes it'll a lot easier on us if it's 3rd and long.

2. Hands up. Try and bat balls down at the LOS. May even lead to a pick or two.

3. Tackle well. With a short passing game you can't let the receivers get Yac.
