Cam's Presser

LUUUUUKE

Recommended Posts

I just had some time, so I listened to all 20 min of it. Nothing I say here will be ground breaking, but still, I feel like it isn't said enough.

We are so blessed as a franchise to have this young man as the face of the franchise, our franchise QB.

If u have the time, this one has it all, he's funny, humble, serious, genuine, emotional, and down to Earth. He's saying and doing all the right things. What's more? It's all genuinely who he is as a person.

He gives a shoutout to the @RoaringRiot during the presser and goes on to advocate that anyone living in the Carolina's should be Panthers fans. Also states that if you're not already, the time to hop on is now.

i just don't think that it can be stated enough, that he's continuing to grow as both a player and a man. I'm just thankful that we can call him ours, and as we know, the best is still yet to come!

presser is on www.panthers.com homepage.

I really liked that he acknowledged the laptop incident from Florida.  I can't stand when people bring that up, and wish those people would hear this press conference.

Yes, that surprised and impressed me how he talked about the laptop.  No doubt with the banner incident (and comments like "he stole the banner just like he stole the laptop" all over Twitter, etc.) it's been forced back to his mind and others' minds.  Good for him to acknowledge his past and yet show how he's grown from it, and how it can be turned to a positive to give others who are struggling with bad mistakes in their past hope that change & growth is possible.

Great to see.  Good for him to not hide from that past but be able to put it in perspective.

i liked the whole pencil and pencil sharpener analogy tying that to the struggles of everyday life and how the grind, the sacrifice, and overall determination will eventually lead to success.

He's such an intelligent individual, and even some of the vocabulary he uses is something you don't see from everyday players in this league.

In fairness, the pencil analogy came from the vet that had both legs amputated.

As far as his vocabulary goes, it's definitely not one of his strengths. He often uses words incorrectly. He stumbles sometimes trying to sound smart. It's obvious that he's trying to improve that aspect as well. Let's not forget the stigma that he came I to theLeague with as far as or being very intelligent.

Still proud of him though, I just had to address the whole vocabulary post

It's painfully obvious Cam hates having to do these pressers. If he could pull a Marshawn and just not do them he would. You can tell his dissatisfaction with the whole process when he gets the same bullshit questions about what he is doing different this year compared to last year because no one in the media can fathom the panthers doing this well so SOMETHING must be different with cam. I wish atleast in the Carolinas we had the media actually like Cam but you can tell the Joe Persons and the David Newtons are just here to push agendas and it's sad.

I would too if the media super trashed me like they did him coming into the NFL. They trashed him for 3 years straight too

I've noticed in a few pressers that when David Newton asks his leading questions Cam has that look of having to restrain himself.  I don't blame him.  I have to restrain myself from yelling at the tv.

Couple of things

1. Was that Joe Person who asked about the GB banner incident? Sounded kinda like him, and Cam's face just screamed "this guy...".

2. After the shoutout to Roaring Riot, I believe Cam said the following: "I have a little assistance from the little board that I write on".....DID CAM JUST CONFIRM HE'S A HUDDLER!?!?!?!?!

Now I watch everybody freak out.

    • Yeah, I've been torn up all week about this. And I'm going to be honest, you and I don't know poo about what is going on with the team. Are they losing the locker room? Not seeing anything from the players about that, just seeing it on forums like this. Are they concerned? Yeah, I'd think that would be a reasonable assumption. Are they rallying around Bryce? Yeah, that I'm seeing from the stuff we see of the players. Is some of it a bit drummed up, quite possibly. Is some of it genuine care and belief in their teammate, yeah most definitely. What is Morgan going to do? Hell, that was just week 1. And week one is often a liar. Once in a while it tells the truth (and that sure was an ugly one to tell last Sunday). Most often, it's just what it is. Half the teams that played in week one lost. Straight down the middle. Sometimes it was a close game, sometimes it was a blowout. We got punched in the face, had our lunch money stolen and Jacksonville kissed our girlfriend.  Me, I saw a team that wasn't up to speed yet. We were playing like this was the fourth pre-season game like we used to have. We're going to learn a lot about Bryce, this team, our coaching and team management after this week's game. It's against the Cardinals, a team that has always been one of those benchmarks for it. Beat them and good things happen (remember that killer game Julius Peppers had against them), lose and it often starts the fast slide to the bottom again (sadly, that playoff game with Jake...). Right now, the Cardinals have their Bryce Young, except their guy still has a better PR department. They have a meh-ish defense. They have a star WR that is underperforming and was possibly over-drafted. They don't have many stars to speak of and dwell around 3rd-4th place in their division on a regular basis. In other words, they are pretty much on par with us. And they are a forgotten team as well, playing games in obscurity. So, yeah, we're going to learn the tale of the season this weekend. And honestly, if we lose like we just did or worse, and I was Dan Morgan, I'd be working on polishing up that resume`.
    • Lol I don’t understand why everyone is liking that post and quoting it, it’s from last season. Did I miss something?
    • At this point, I don't want anymore fools gold from Young. He either needs to be in the MVP conversation  (lol) or I want to get blown out every game until he is off the team. Our front office just isn't bright enough to handle anything in between.
