Such a rigid perspective. Cam is different from guys like Brady and Manning. He is a extrovert and likes to express himself. It is all about intent and Cam's intent was that he is happy that his team and himself are doing good and not rubbing it in the other team's face. I know alot of people like this where they just have a very pessimistic outlook on everything. They see the negative in everything even when it is not there.

I sent Ms. Plorin a message on facebook.  Wonder if she will respond.

Dear Ms. Plorin,

I felt obligated to respond to you directly regarding your sorely misinformed letter to the Charlotte Observer.  Cam Newton is not only an outstanding player on the field, but a positive role model to children off the field. He is extremely well regarded in the Charlotte area for his work with children. It is clear you did no research before writing your letter. A simple internet search would have revealed countless articles documenting his charitable work.  How could you write such a scathing public letter without doing any research on the person you so easily chastise?

If you want to set a positive example for your daughter, teach her not to judge people so quickly. Your letter not only set a poor example for your daughter, but embarrassed entire Tennessee Titans organization by portraying their fans as uninformed and sore losers.  I suggest writing a retraction letter to the Charlotte Observer and request your original letter be removed ASAP.  Good luck.

What pisses me more than the Observer giving thus women the time of day, is the fact that they didn't bother to taking her to task for her untrue description of Cams dance moves.

And what 7yr old child would make statements questioning does he have a child or mom at home' and does he know he's acting like a spoiled brat? Get real psycho mom.

The Observer is loving this. They are getting all kinds of attention and clicks right now.

After reading what I read from Titans fans on their message board, and what I generally understand about Nashville. I wouldn't be surprised if there was some prejudicial bias in this woman's concerns.

Racial bias to be more clear.

In the article's comment section (normally dangerous to read), someone found this woman's LinkedIn Profile. I will try to link it here,  BOOM!. She works as a Creative Writer for Public Relation firms... if you ask me, this is all fabricated. She possibly doesn't even have a child, because lets face it... What kid age 3-12 isn't a Cam Fan. This woman's career should be railroaded and blacklisted for this BS slander!!! They want to witch hunt Cam because he is winning and having fun, let's witch hunt right back.

Her profile says she's versed in crisis communication.......

boy, is that experience gonna come in handy.

    • In my opinion Fitterer was probably right about not paying McCaffrey. Now not wanting to "pay RBs" in my opinion isn't something you want to set in stone, to me it all comes down to the individual.
    • Maybe I'm just not understanding, but everywhere that I have read says that signing bonuses go against the cap prorated by as much as five years. The following example uses Andrew Luck's rookie contract as an example. "Take Andrew Luck, the first overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft. Luck signed a four-year contract with the Colts worth $22.1 million and included a $14.5 million signing bonus. Rather than a $14.5 million cap hit in 2012, the Colts spread out his signing bonus over the life of his contract. The hit against the cap would be $3.625 million per year over four years instead of a direct cap hit of $14.5 million directly in 2012. This gave the Colts more leverage and cap flexibility in signing other players." https://www.the33rdteam.com/nfl-signing-bonuses-explained/ I don't know why some of you think that signing bonuses aren't counted against the cap over the length of the contract, but whatever.   "The bonus with a signing is usually the most garish aspect of a rookie contract. Bonus is the immediate cash players receive when they ink a deal. It factors into the cap, but only for the whole contract duration, in terms of salary cap calculations. In the case of Bryce Young’s $24.6 million signing bonus, that’s prorated to approximately $6.15 million per season over a four-year deal. This format allows teams to handle the cap and provides rookies with some short-term fiscal stability, which is important given the high injury risk in this league." https://collegefootballnetwork.com/how-rookie-contracts-work-in-the-nfl/ I understand how signing bonuses can be a useful tool in order to manage the cap, and as one of the article suggests, signing bonuses may become important if you have a tight cap, but the bill is always going to come due. I'm not necessarily referring to you Tuka, but it seems to me that others simply don't want to understand that fact which is why they're reacting to what I'm saying negatively. How odd. In any event, I have a better general understanding of why signing bonuses are used now, and it's generally to fit salaries under the cap. Surely players, whether they be rookies or not, love a signing bonus because they get a good portion of their money up front. This in turn gives them more security and probably amounts to tax benefits as well. I also understand why teams would not want to use signing bonuses, particularly for players or draftees who have a higher probability of being gone before a contract even ends.
