I actually think you have been doing a good job KBF.

What I appreciate though is that you have a good understanding as to the role of stats. They're not a be-all / end-all but they do have value when they're understood in context.

Football games are a lot of ebb and flow, and you can see it in what you're charting.

If the guy just likes stats why try to poo on it?

let it be, it's different, and no one else will put together an in depth statistical analysis of our team.

Rock on KB.

PS: if I could choke one person it would be the guy that invented math/stats so I'm not exactly what you would call a numbers guy. :)

I didnt poo on it you emo handbag, lol, out of control with the feelings hurt stuff . . relax. I made a point. You guys say dont hate right?

Dont hate. . Educate! Right? Well let me explain as softly and kindly as I can so you wont misunderstand my tone. :)

If you dont understand the givens in your formulas you will never undestand why those numbers appear that way. More importantly you will miss all the truly amazing goals that are being accomplished because you have no relative point of perspective. Context needs perspective in order to to be accurately understood.

Im also an engineer and all I can say is, If youre an engineer who looks at numbers on a chart instead of understand why that machine does what it does, I dont want to be anywhere near anything you work on. It's definitely going to go boom at some point, lol. Guys like that are the reason why I dont hire anyone.

Emo handbag, hmmm.  Different, I'll give it a 6.

im sure the emotion just jumped off the screen, what was it, the smiley face?

sometimes I just get so wrapped up in my feels, I just lose it.

ill try to keep my poo together now that the super cool engineer of the century has brought awareness to my shortcomings.

Here are the summaries of all our drives so far:

TOTALS

611     plays

3209   yds

190     1st dwns

115     3rd dwns

I find it a bit worrisome we are just as likely to go 3 and out as we are to score a touchdown, we really need to bring that 3 and out percentage down particular as the season drags on and our defense gets more and more beat up.

But that ratio is still good enough for us to be the #3 scoring offense in the league.

nobody likes a 3 and out but they happen.

We can def improve but it's not a troubling stat.

    • I think they are holding back to see what they have in the young guys, but I think it's a near certainty at some point they will bring someone else in. Right now (assuming we keep 5 CBs which is normal), the top 5 IMO are: 1) Jaycee Horn 2) Mike Jackson 3) Chau Smith-Wade 4) Shemar Bartholomew  5) Akayleb Evans   Obviously Jaycee is the alpha in that room and paid as such. Need him to stay healthy and continue to play at a Pro-Bowl level. Mike Jack did pretty well all things considered last year, and they gave him lower-level starter money. Fair deal for both sides.  Smith-Wade showed some promise as a slot CB. I think low-key he's a lock for the team. Different size and skill set than the other CBs. Shemar Bartholomew was the most sought after waiver claim last preseason. Was 5th CB most and inactive most of last year. Had a few defensive and ST snaps. Nothing of note good or bad but too small a sample size to make any judgment. Akayleb Evans was a 2022 4th Rounder for the Vikings. Has started 19 games (including Week 18 for the Panthers) in his career and played in 43. Was pretty good in 2023 before getting injured and falling down the depth chart last year. There's some other guys on the outside looking in, but until they show more in training camp I dont see anyway they make the 53. And only Jaycee, Mike Jack, and Smith-Wade are locks to make this roster IMO.
    • Was just reading the Ask the Old Guy story on the team's website and was shocked to see that only two 2nd Rounders have signed so far, 30 of them haven't. That isn't normal, the Texans really screwed things up for the rest of the league, no other explanation that I can think of for 30 of the 32 picks to still be unsigned at this point.
    • They need to address CB before season starts. This is not going to cut it.
