I would have been so upset if the panthers went out like that. You need to at least try a couple of times for big plays down the field to get somewhere near the endzone to give  yourself a chance to win that was a pathetic performance.

That only counts if his forward progress is actually stopped by a defensive player. Anytime a player goes backwards on their own they are not given forward progress, and thus in this situation the clocked should have been stopped.
