I was very impressed as well. I was actually impressed with the whole defense.

I remember reading in many threads before the season started: "Don't worry, our offense can handle itself, worry about our defense." I felt it was the complete opposite yesterday. Besides the run-stop, they did a fairly good job on pressuring the QB and overall keeping it together.

Just remember: the Eagles aren't a pushover.

What impressed me the most is that the D# was trying hard even when we were doomed already. Sure, Philly wasn't playing their best Football, but we still played hard ( at least on D# ).

They were either legitimately trying... or getting in some extra practice. :P

I've not been through all the omg Jake threads, but the O Line played like dookie - see Jake stats- see McCown Stats- see Moore who coulda've had 3 picks himself but all of the blames going to Dehlomme? I'm not defending him. I'd rather have a stud QB but the blitz pick ups and overall pass blocking was pretty shoddy to say the least

Jake sucked+Oline didn't help at all

my-2 cents

this wasn't really relevant to the peppers from the OP (sorry was in response to the trade for a decent QB when the way the line played not getting enough attention in my opinion

Send Pep to Cleveland for Anderson...but honestly...any QB that we bring here that plays under a Fox system is not going to play to his strengths...he is forced to play to Fox's system of managing the game and keep it conservative.

Take that for what it's worth and figure out who to go with. I think a different mindset is required.

    • Basically agree.  He is the one of that bunch that offers upgraded pass catching along with he is supposed to be kind of special.   Then you have the OL and the ideas that if they perform you can have JAG backs and still do well. So okay we could be fine.  But Brooks is important and to me that receiving element sets him apart.  So there sure is something riding on him.     What strikes me as incongruent is people over in Atlanta or those that follow them look at Penix with a third surgery and act like it is no big deal.      And we are on pins and needles over Brooks.  Either they should worry a lot more or we should worry a lot less.
    • I usually go a game or two optimist over the consensus here but this is too early for me to say. I need to see some players on the field.  I am not feeling real optimistic though.
    • Okay as a ‘take CJ’ fan I actually don’t obsess over CJ and Houston, contrary to the narrative.  But I thought I picked up some noise that his OL left a lot to be desired.    Not a single Beyce supporter would judge him harshly if he had a crappy OL. We all know that.    So be fair about it.  A QB needs to be protected.  Especially a guy that gets to his spot and wants to finish the play from there. Which CJ is.
