Ryan Kalil: Cam takes the most cheap shots in the League

What Kalil said is very true. I went back to a lot of the footage that's available and it's so true. Cam doesn't instigate but he does react. He reacts to actions on the field. Defensive ends and tackles coming in late, and the refs not calling anything. I don't blame Cam or the O line for getting into scuffles because of this crap.

Since I started this thread, I can tell you with 100% assurance the following:

This thread isn't about other players.  Its about Cam Newton.

IOW, GFY.

For the sake of argument you guys make it sound like The ref's only protect certain QB's and that Cam is a "victim"

Smart move by Ryan. I hope the 4 letter network picks it up and makes a big deal about it. The "fans" will claim Cam brings it on himself... the league however will put a magnifying glass on the situation.

Yeah, the situation of Kalil calling out the refs. He'll probably get fined by the league now. the whole country watched the Saints defense tap dance on Cam's head his rookie season. They could care less. Maybe if he had Tom Brady hair it be a different story? Sad to say....but we've seen what happens to Panthers when they challenge the refs publicly.

Cam isn't the only player this happens to FYI

Um, Kalil didn't say Cam was the only person he had seen it done to.  FYI

said the frequency it was done to him was the highest he had ever seen

"I also think it (Cam's size) works against him, too," Kalil continued. "I think a lot of times refs let guys play and get away with that stuff because he's so big and he's such a physical specimen. I think it works against him a lot of times in that regard because he can take a hit and he can get back up.

It's not just being able to get back up. If a defender bounces off you due to your size, it's still a late hit. This is what plagued Shaq (the BB Shaq) during his career. He'd get fouled and it wouldn't get called because it was like fouling a brick wall. Kind of a version of the old 'no harm no foul' attitude.
