Post by Thomas Davis' wife, Kelly, indicates TD is having surgery this morning on his broken right arm

praying for our warrior

Remember when smitty broke his arm and he played a week or so later? He will be out there, even with some new steel hardware in the arm.

and the severity of dislocation.  If he's under surgery, that must mean it was pretty badly dislocated/damaged and docs feel it needs support.  If it was minor, they would've just set it temporarily.  UNLESS...they did a somewhat temp set job at the game and decided to rebreak/reset today.  But that's not really a surgical thing....

we'll see.

Or they did the surgery to speed up the healing process to get it ready for the game.

We'll know more later, but surgery doesn't usually speed anything up.  Unless they are putting adamantium in this man...and with that...I think we know what character TD is.  Wolverine!  Or Deadpool.  You choose.

The surgery could have nothing to do with helping to heal the arm.

It very well could be to put a metal plate in there to support the broken arm as much as possible so he can play and will just deal with the pain.

This...that's what I meant by support, but anytime you have something like that installed there's atrophy post-surgery and during healing, but TD is no mere mortal.

Yea, if he is physically able to play, he will, I really don't think the pain is going to be a factor here.

We've seen the guy dislocate a finger while shedding a block, only to pop it back in place while running the RB down and make the tackle.

I'm not worried about him being the able to play through the pain, guy is a true warrior and it's solely going to come down to whether he is physically able to play or not.

I doubt he even cares about long term damage, I'd be willing to bet he'd take the SB win and play in it, even if he could end his playing career by doing so.

His legs are good, ergo his motor is fine.  He'll have his other arm to take the brunt of impact.  Thomas Davis Sr. will be on the field in Santa Clara.  He's worked too damn long and come back from too many injuries to miss this opportunity.
