Denver put on one of the all-time great defensive efforts throughout the playoffs this year.  They shut down 3 of the best offenses in football.  Hats off to them- that is no easy feat.  I am by no means saying they didn't have a good game plan.  They executed those "green dog" blitzes to perfection, and their coverage was very good.

We were still the #1 Offense for a reason, and we could have won that game had we executed better.  I just think the idea that teams can just copy what Denver did is laughable.  No one else in the league could have executed at that level.  Other teams already tried and failed.  Wade Phillips isn't afraid to pat himself on the back, but the truth is if he was truly able to create something no one else thought of, he probably would still be a HC.  Just like Shula.

I truly didn't think they could against us- meaning not to the level of shutting us down they did.  Neither did Vegas, or most of the nation, regardless of what they say now.  I was wrong.

I don't think this means our offense is suddenly going to suck next year.

Shula will suck again but it's certainly not all of a sudden.

Here's the big part.. you will be the #1 offense next year too while we will be lucky to be top 10 defense depending on who we lose with all this free agency.

I have a strong feeling you guys will be back next year and ready to win.

Easy to blitz when the ref is pushing the team back every 3 downs.  Denver did nothing new they were just allowed to play outside the rules.

Can't disagree wth that. People ask how games can be rigged......the NFL had an agenda and it was to see old Noodle Arm Manning ride  off into the sunset. Nothing anyone says will convince me otherwise. I'm not saying Denver wasn't good, but had some of those non or bad calls actually been called as they should have been the Panthers could have easily won that game. It wasn't all about the alleged superior defense.  The media is nothing but a bunch of bandwagon loudmouths that care nothing about facts.

That defense was not all that good outside of there DEs. Hell we were chewing up yards and if not for some Super Bowl jitters would have rolled them as well. I will say Cam did play like poo and i really believe he let the SB get to him. He was showing all the tell tell signs like throwing high and hard.

Cam was high early so you can pretty much assume he was a bit of nervous or excited because Cam says he doesn't get nervous. We had plenty of opportunities to win the game but we just didn't get it done plain and simple. Next year we will be better on offense with Benji coming back. The questions that needs to answered is do we upgrade the Tackle position. I'm not so sure if we can find a Tackle in the draft or free agency that's better then what we have now on the roster. Let's hope that Daryl Williams develop.

legit breakdown. great game plan.

i can honestly say i have no clue how you beat a green dog blitz scheme.

evidently neither does shula.

Shula had it beat multiple times, however the throwers gotta throw, the catchers gotta catch, the runners gotta run, and they all need to hold onto the ball.

Not a lot of that happened.

    • lol, that second part is quite literally one of the dumbest things ever. Having or not having guaranteed contracts has absolutely nothing to do with how much these billionaires have to pay.  Because there is a hard cap and a minimum cap spend requirement, and teams either use their cap or roll it over to use it all the next year, so the owners have to pay the same amount of money in the end no matter what. Having fully guaranteed contracts in the NFL would only hurt salary cap management, and thus would end up screwing over the team and its fan base when teams kiss on signings as they take up cap room that is needed to improve the roster. Look at the Browns with Watson, they gave him the fully guaranteed deal and all it’s doing is sucking up massive cap space now.  If they hadn’t done that, the owner would still be paying the same amount of money each year as that cap space would still be used elsewhere. If you want to argue for fully guaranteed contracts because the players deserve it, that’s an entirely different argument and a fair one to discuss.  But anyone against fully guaranteed deals isn’t doing it to argue for the billionaire owners.

    • Ryabkin could be the steal of the draft, he was a Top 10 pick heading into last season and had a rough year.  Lots of GMs passed on him because of that and his workouts. Pick has really high upside and Svech should be able to translate Rod tearing his arse a new one for making dumb plays since Svech has had several years of it.  🤣😂
