Remember when many wanted Strong?

Well, Jaelen Strong is the next player to get caught with pot.

Not to say that we would look at a guy like Noah Spence with any seriousness, but in some sense, I am thinking that Strong's arrest will make GMs think twice before drafting guys that have impaired judgement as it pertains to their priorities in life.

I wish that I had the opportunity to throw away potential millions for a toke.

Did he have pre-draft character/weed concerns? I don't remember that if he did. I only remember being really against drafting him because I didn't think he was any good. Zero separation at the top of his route.

Randy Gregory is the better comparison for Spence. That guy failed 4 weed tests in less than a year and was a known problem pre-draft. For every Tyrann Mathieu, there are 3 or 4 Randy Gregorys. A zebra doesn't usually change it's stripes.

Jamie Dukes said we should have drafted this guy instead of Shaq or Funchess. Reason #10,987,346,234 I'm glad he is not our GM and only an NFL talking head. Jamie Dukes is an idiot. Don't be like Jamie Dukes.

Yes,  I still haven't figured out Jamie?

I have no clue either. It seems almost personal how he constantly discounts Gettleman. I think back in the day when Gettleman was a scout he must have given Dukes a low grade or something.

I remember Strong taking a tumble in the draft and some (myself included) not understanding it.

Welp, I'd say a lot of teams probably did their homework and knew Strong had some habits.

He had some wrist issue(needed surgery at some point) and he really just kinda sucked. Doubt the weed was a major factor in his drop. Half the league smokes weed.

    • My take on Darnold was always that he was fine with a good offensive line but would wilt under pressure with a poor line (Jets and Panthers). Seattle began the year w/ a pretty bad oline and they improved somewhat but Darnold is showing he is a pretty good qb. Imagine what the Panthers would be today with Darnold and without Bryce Young and all the wasted draft picks to get him.
    • Similar situation but that would be a better version than what we currently have. Sam isn't a franchise QB but he is a good bridge guy. Either Seatle finds a young guy to groom or they have hit their ceiling. They 100% can't put it on Sam's shoulders and expect to win but the team needs to carry less with him at QB to win vs what this team has to do with Bryce.
    • to me the post would suggest Sam Darnold was good last night because Seattle won in a wild game.   Which is what we do with Bryce Young.   Sam Darnold didn't play well last night.  Which is how he trends, goes to a new team.....looks okay and becomes classic Sam Darnold down the stretch.  Last 6 or 7 weeks old bad Sam is coming out a lot (and then a weird Atlanta game mixed in lol).
