This is my thing as well.  Next years RB class is fuging stacked.  Fournette, Chubb, Perine, just to name a few.  Derrick Henry will be the first pick in the Gettlemen era that I will say "yeah, even I could've done better than that."

Chubb is a beast, if he stays healthy he will be a feature back in the NFL.

Sounds like Marc James saying DON'T pick Cam because NEXT YEAR'S QB class was supposed to be awesome.  Nick Foles is better than Cam people!

Not to mention if those dudes are REALLY that good they won't be there at 32.

I've gotten the sense lately that if he's on the board that Butler will be the pick.  Unfortunately, That would also mean that he's likely Star's replacement (even though we would still have Star for two more years).

If Butler is gone, though, I think Ogbah will be the pick.  I feel fairly certain that one of them, at least, will be there at 30.  Both would strengthen our DL, but Ogbah is a bigger current need.

I think both Henry's could be good players for us, I just don't think either are first round values.  Hunetr is being propped up because it's a weak TE draft, and Derrick is being pushed because he is a traditional downhill runner, which fits our MO.

Also Dalvin Cook. He might end up as the best of them all.

Then there is Christian McCaffrey who could maybe stay in school but is ridiculous.

Next years RB class is insane.

All those guys will be beast in my opinion.

Purely my personal belief but I thought Fournette wasnt the same after the horrible performance he had in the AL game plus the arguments about carries for Henry can be made against him as well if he has another yr like lasy yr, but, I dont know more than a GM or scout so if we took him I am sure I would have a jersery of his the next season. Whoever Gettleman took or takes I cant argue with and wont.

As a Tennessee fan, I've also got to include Jalen Hurd, as I think he'll leave early. He's even bigger than Henry (6'4 240) and had 1300 yards last season in split duties with Alvin Kamara, who I also think leaves early, and will be a good change of pace guy in the NFL.

As for D. Henry, I don't like the first round selection on him, but I trust Gettleman's evaluations 100%. His picks have been stellar thus far during his run as GM.

Sit tight at 30. See who is there and who is left. Move up to early 2nd and grab another top panther-ranked player. I could see us going DE and Hunter Henry. Then target secondary and DT with whatever picks we have left. I think this strategy aligns BPA with our needs and the values of the players in the draft. We know G-man has an eye for linemen. I think he gets off on knowing he can find value in the later rounds and with UDFAs.

This, I like this.

"If you draft a RB in the 1st round he better be a 3 down player right away" -DG

Does Gettleman think Henry is a 3 down back? He's not good in pass protection and has very limited experience as a pass catcher though I think he is better at it than most give him credit for.

Big Jalen Hurd fan, he's quicker and more physical than Henry.  Really think his stock is going to explode this year.

    • Bad news is Bryce will actually get use a middle of the round pick (9-8) missing any chance to get a QB. Honestly though I think Tep would be ok with that and see it as a reason to resign him. After all that’s the most success Tep can muster in 10 years.
    • Yes.   It's been widely reported Aaron Glenn is an egomaniac and only wants staff who will not challenge him or tip the scales of power in any direction but his.   I'm guessing that has to be one of, if not, the most toxic environments across the four major sport leagues in America.
    • Dan tends to attack one specific position group per offseason and the sprinkle others throughout the roster. He extended Moton, signed Hunt, Lewis, Nijman one offseason and then extended Brown and signed Wharton and Hunt and drafted Jackson next offseason. My guess is he attacks LB and Edge this offseason.    1. What do you do with Icky? Likely a scratch for next season and due a massive contract (if healthy) They will bring back Nijman and Christensen and draft a guy on Day 2 is my guess and hope one of them can fill the hole. 2. Coker has the talent for 2nd WR, but do you pay a guy who gets hurt that premium? I think hes your number 3 simply due to risk. Will the Panthers seek another vet or go surprisingly high in the draft? They will probably sign him more and longer than the RFA Tender to keep him happy and not break the bank in the process. Can see them getting a Vet in FA like Tutu Atwell or Hollywood Brown. Somebody with speed but also isn’t overly expensive. I think Horn and Tremayne stick around and unfortunately Legette. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Tremble released and a real TE in brought in, there is a good FA group this year. 3. Do you give X more feature time? Or cut bait now? I wouldn’t be surprised if they traded him but I’m willing to bet he gets one more year. Maybe Canales can find a role like Shenault had with McAdoo.  4. Planning the long term/short term on OL Like I said I think Christensen and Nijman are brought back for T with a Day 2 rookie and prayer something sticks. Moton, Hunt, Lewis return ofcourse. Probably resign Corbett as a safeguard at Center but I think they go C in the 1st or 2nd. Wouldn’t be shocked to see Morgan trade to the back end of the 1st to get a solid C and add picks. 5. How do you address LB? I think Rozeboom leaves. Hoping CJ Allen or Sonny Styles is still there is too big of a risk. They probably go get Kaden Elliss or Leo Chenal and pay good money for them. Maybe a guy on Day 3 for depth with Cherelus and Martin-Scott. Also think he takes a swing at Edge, wouldn’t be shocked to see Hendrickson or Oweh here.  6. Do you bank of Chuba bouncing back?    I think Chuba remains Chuba. There are some decent change of pace backs out there this year that will be cheap. Still developing Etienne and Brooks may be healthy. I think it’s Chuba and that crew maybe a veteran that’s not Dowdle. More like Deejay Dallas who was here already once.  I also think Dalton calls it and they get an upgrade at back up. Nobody that would endanger Bryce’s job but somebody that isn’t 55 years old either. Trubisky, Minshew, Pickett, Kyle Allen (yes same one).
