2016 Panthers First Round Draft Selection Tree

NYPost is reporting Jets will bypass QB Lynch and take Coleman in 1st round.

Could also be a smokescreen to hide their interest so nobody jumps ahead of them to grab Lynch...at least that's what I hope.  Coleman's my #1 fantasy pick!

I question our love for Coleman. If he isn't targeted he looks completely lazy and disinterested. He is the compete opposite of Smitty when off the ball.

That said, he is competitive, and he probably goes before us anyways.

Baylor coaches their receivers to not run routes and to not block when the play is run to the other side of the field.

If Butler is the pick, I'll just have to trust Gettleman.  I've seen nothing from him That's impressed me. In terms of bolstering the pass rush, I'm not sure if expect much out of a guy with 3 sacks and 8 hurries last year in C-USA play.  But hey, Gettleman came away with Short in the 2nd when so many other teams were questioning his motor.  I'd give him credit for Star, but that was a no brainer gimme pick.

Gotta think that OT isn't being talked about because Gettleman has already said he sees four 1st round OTs in this draft.  Assuming those four guys are Tunsil, Stanley, Decker, and Conklin, they're likely to be long gone before we're on the clock or before they slip far enough to be in attractive trade up range.  Tunsil and Stanley are top 10 locks and both Decker and Conklin are getting top 15 talk.  If any of those guys are on the clock at #30, our pick will get turned in just as quickly as the Star pick was.

Humphries was going to be our pick last year but we missed out on him.

What changed to this draft on that position?

Oher was good and after the top 4 four OTs which should be long gone by our pick there isn't anyone 1st round worthy left. If Decker or Conklin are somehow miraculously there at 30 I think we would pick them.

#1 offense in football with every OL returning and a young backup OT we love getting healthy and better every day

    • T-Mac is a nickname, Tet is a shortening of Tetairoa. Like you said below... your name is Jonathan, I could see "Jonny" being considered a nickname, but Jon isn't a nickname, it's a shortening of Johnathan, see the difference? And if your mom named you Jonathan for it's biblical significance/meaning, because she was very religious, I think it would be different. T-Mac is Polynesian, so much in their culture has deeper meaning for them, particularly names.  So for his mom to feel this way, I highly doubt it's just because she likes the name Tetairoa and not Tet, it's much more likely than not to be because the name itself has a deeper meaning in their culture.   Particularly as T-Mac himself has often talked about how much his Polynesian heritage means to himself and his family. And no, I'm not saying all this because of how much he's my guy, if he was just "normal american" and his name was Jonathan and he didn't like fans calling him Jon, I'd probably just say tough poo.  It's that he's Polynesian and I know things like names have a much deeper meaning in their culture than they do in ours for the most part. For whatever it's worth, a quick google search.......
