Two totally different players. Garrett looks a whole like like Cotchery out there. Byrd is more Ginn.

I am afraid for his health in the slot. I don't know. One good hit by a LB and....

Byrd is not a slot receiver. He's not terribly shifty, but he is precise and very fast.  He's a pure outside speed receiver.  9 routes, outs, comebacks, posts, and crossing patterns. Same way you see us using Ginn.  If Byrd sticks, it will be because we see him as a potential replacement for Ginn.

I will say it's pretty easy to swat a ball when you don't have to worry about making a tackle.
